Just rented it, and I can't see the hate for it.

I love it so much because it's unpredictablilty and difficulty was not seen in any fight night or knockout kings.

I just got a clutch KO at the end of my first pro fight in the 10th (the match was 10 rounds)... In my FN career I had one fight go past the 5th... and that was against a friend

I really enjoy the game, but there are things that need to be cleaned up. You will see it after a while. They do have a solid foundation to build upon imo. It just needs more darn polish. I Dont know if it was Venom being lazy or them having to meet a deadline. Either way, if they go to a PF2, it needs some serious polish.

I agree, the collision detection is just atrocious. I bought Fight Night 2 last night to go through career and the collision detection is 100x better in that game being nearly 4 years old. The boxing in FN2 is nowhere near strategic like in FN3 or even Prizefighter. I am going to mess with this a bit more and decide if I stick with FN2 or maybe go back to FN3 for a bit. PF is cool, but the damn collision detection sort of hinders the game for me a bit the more that I play. Take Two and Venom have a nice game here, they need to polish everything under the hood here.

Knocking down your opponent 9 tims by punching them in the arm makes me feel more like a 3rd grade bully than a boxer. This game's single player seems to get worse the longer I play it.

......even worse,after your opponent throws a punch, and you dodge it only to get hit with the same punch as your opponent is pulling his arm back......that pisses me off.

I have not liked NCAA and Madden in a long time. I didn't really get into GTA either among other games. I made my opinion known, once, and moved on. There was no utility in me spending energy in bitching about my opinion. I didn't lurk and continue to post my negative opinions like a crazy ex-girlfriend.

There is the thing, its really not an opinion. I spent $60 on the game, I played career mode on the hardest level and alot of fights have me knocking my opponent down 9 times and alot from shots to the arm. I'm only stating this because I want them to either patch this game or fix it for the next version.

Now I guess that saying I feel like a 3rd grade bully is an opinion, but I don't see how this can be fun for anyone that likes the sport of boxing. I'd expect to see this many knockdowns in facebreaker, but not something that touted itself to be "sim" like.

When I throw out "sim," I am purely talking in regards to online play against a human. I played a 3 minute, 12 round fight against a good human player (I was JC, he was Pavlik) and it was the most intense, realistic sports game I have ever had online. It involved realistic punch output, percentages, etc... and was filled with tons of countering, blocking, and defense. This type of fight could never be had on previous Fight Nights. The combination of parrying, haymakers, lack of stamina, etc... made it virtually impossible.

I don't see how Madden or NCAA can be fun for anyone into football with the plethora of unrealistic aspects to those games. I find those games more unrealistic than PF. But, I respect that some people like it, while others don't. There's no need for me to go to the official EA forums to bash the games or constantly post in the Madden forums here about how unrealistic those games are.

At the end of the day it's all about preference, to each his own.

I think if I could find a game against a human that would use real boxers I'd like that too. Those created boxers that don't take any damage are ridiculous.

I went 15 2 minute rounds against a created boxer with Bonami last night. It was fun, I outboxed him and won a decision 148-143. However, despite digging to his body and landing some great combos, at the end of 15 rounds, he was still full of stamina and his life bar had not been touched. I must have landed over 200 power shots during that fight and about another 300 stiff jabs over that time frame. And he took absolutely no damage.

I on the other hand had lost nearly half my health bar despite only being hit with mainly jabs and quite a few less that I landed on him.

Well at least up until last year, I could make NCAA football give me realistic stats. Last year I agree was utter garbage. But 9 knockdowns in a fight by one guy on several occassions. This would be like NCAA games being 130-0.

But anyway, you are right. I am sure there are people out there that want 9 knockdowns or even more per fight. So I will leave it to them to carry the torch for the Prizefighter series.
