I had it 109-118 for Joe. Roy took the first round and lost all the rounds there after. Simply outworked. I thought Roy would be more active but he looked the roy who fought Tarver the 3rd time.
Props to Joe tho. He won in typical Joe fashion, punches in bunches.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Boy was i ever wrong on this fight...I honestly couldn't see RJJ not letting his hands go against this guy...Calzaghe's handspeed and workrate completely overwhelmed RJJ...Also that early KD seemed to work against RJJ, it lit a fire under Calzaghe and RJJ was caught in between...It was truly an outstanding performance on all levels by Calzaghe, he gained a lot of respect from American fight fans...I do agree with Kellerman, Calzaghe should fight Dawson to leave no question marks...If he does choose to retire, as it stands right now he is one of the greatest champs this sport has ever seen...
Congrats Joe, you made me a believer...Last edited by Bamtino; 11-09-2008, 11:37 AM.Comment

I will be shocked if JC does not fight Dawson. Kessler and B-Hop were both ringside to challenge JC, but JC declined both and said Kessler is the best he fought and Kessler and B-Hop should match up.
I think he will fight Dawson and not retire because Dawson, being the bad mother that he is...and unlike many of his counterparts, said he will go overseas and fight JC in front of 80,000 fans.Comment

Re: So is anybody watching Calzaghe/Jones 24/7??
Wow. Joe is definitely an all-time great. He's without a doubt one of, if not the best Super Middleweight in the last 25 years. His skill set is what impressed me years ago and instantly transformed me into a fan.
His performances agains B-Hop and RJJ proved just how tough and courageous he is. Getting dropped in the first round definitely puts you in the hole. In the Roy fight, what dropped him was a forearm.
Jim Lampley said it best Joe Calzaghe is like Jazz in the ring. He was in and out, great head movement non stop punching. Probably the best stamina i've ever seen. If Joe had more power he'd be unstopable. Even without the power he's still unbeaten.
I've never seen Chad Dawson fight. What do u guys think Joe's chances are of beating Dawson??"I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

And even if Kessler or someone like that continues to win, JC has a win over him.
I love Dawson and I am a big fan. But I think JC will win only because Dawson has fought one other pressure fighter, Glencoffe Johnson, and barely won and was pretty much out on his feet that last two rounds from exhaustion.
But Dawson is big, fast, throws a ton of punches, and a fellow southpaw...so it would be a great fight.Comment

Re: So is anybody watching Calzaghe/Jones 24/7??
Dawson is a very good southpaw, with good hand speed and agility...Dawson will pose a much bigger challenge than RJJ did last night but i think Calzaghe will ultimately be too much for him...What makes Calzaghe such a tough fighter is his freakish video game esk workrate, his quick reflexes and ability to control the pace of the fight...For a guy who throws so many punches he has a pretty good connect ratio and can take a punch as good as anyone...Dawson much like Calzaghe also throws a lot of punches which should make for one interesting fight...
Hopefully it happens...Comment

Im going to challenge this talk of Joe being an All-Time great. Most of his names opponents were well past their prime. Is he a good fighter but on the GOAT list he is not in my top 20.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Re: So is anybody watching Calzaghe/Jones 24/7??
I was wrong about this one. I thought RJJ had one more great fight left in him, it seems that was lost when he dropped from HW back to LHW. I don't care how anyone else perceives this, but he has not been the same fighter since dropping back down. I truly hope he retires because I'm tired of seeing people add him to their resume. In his prime he was untouchable, now he is like a punching bag. I can't stand to see it. Props to Joe C for easily taking care of business, but this was surreal. Dancing in front of RJJ with his hands down...crazy. Funny thing is, according to most experts, no one 168 down is beating a prime RJJ. Now this debacle with a fadded RJJ puts doubt in some people's minds.
Silver lining: At least there won't be a rematch with B-Hop. He already beat him with a broken hand. Didn't really want to see that one at this point. And since James Toney will be a first ballot HOFer, I would consider him a great fighter RJJ beat...just saying...Comment

Re: So is anybody watching Calzaghe/Jones 24/7??
Very, very rarely do any two fighters meet in their prime.
RJJ's best win is probably B-Hop, which JC beat a better version of B-Hop than JCC did.
JC is the best SMW of all-time and it isn't really debateable.Comment

Re: So is anybody watching Calzaghe/Jones 24/7??
Calzaghe has fought every big challenger willing to step in the ring with him and defeated them all...There is only one left and his name is Chad Dawson...IMO if Calzaghe fights and defeats Dawson he is easily top 20 in any respectable GOAT list...Comment

Exciting, but in a different way. Very rarely in boxing do you see two ATG's fight and one get completely dominated. But there were lots of punches, blood, and no clinching. It was entertaining.Comment
