Sticks Or Buttons Poll
I'm not adding a "Both" entry and this is not intended to stir up a red state versus blue state type of battle. I'm genuinely curious about the number of button people there are out there. I would appreciate anyone voting to reply with their STICKS or BUTTON answer (an any other comment) so we are not getting a flood of friends who could care less about FN4.137STICKS0%70BUTTONS0%67The poll is expired.

Sticks here. I think its a bit more challenging, not that buttons are easy, but its definitely MORE challenging. And funner. At least for me it is.

Re: Sticks Or Buttons Poll
I dont know what to vote as Ive always played the game using buttons and never took the time to learn the sticks in FNR2 or FNR3..But now since there is no choice, im force to learn the sticks and now I actually like them...So I'll vote sticks because I can see EA adding/expanding alot of things with this stick control which prolly wouldnt happen with buttons...This is next gen anyway, time for next gen control IMO...Comment

Re: Sticks Or Buttons Poll
I think they should have both to make everyone happy, plus I dont find the stick to be that responsive. I also dont like the fact that I have to ruin my damn controller to play games like this and UFC. Its getting old fast. I cant even use the same damn controller for my FPS games becasue the right analog is so damn loose. Plus the more I play, the less resposive the stick becomes. The sticks arent made to last long under these types of comditions, and they are expensive. At least with ufc you can use the buttons instead of the stick most of the time.Comment

If stick mashing is what you do to punch, then that is what I am doing, and I do fine, I just rather the other option to make my controller last longer.Comment

Re: Sticks Or Buttons Poll
Buttons by a country mile. The sticks represent poor game design. At least the original control offered the feeling that each stick was an arm but that made it difficult to punch and move at the same time. The new controls offer nothing except less control. That isnt next-gen thats just stupid.
It reminds me of some of the special moves in DOA and Virtual Fighter. Some of them are just too hard to do in a fast moving game so you have like 20 moves that nobody ever uses. That is poor design. With good game design every move is used. It better to have a fighting game with 20 moves that are part of the battle even if some are risky wildcard moves that are rarely used than a game with 60 moves and only 10 are used in fights.
Thats the problem with the sticks. If I wanted to I could throw a jab, straight right, left hook, right uppercut combo 5/5 times with the buttons with ease. I could practice with the sticks for a month and struggle to pull that combo 5/5 teams with decent speed. If the plan is to make punches less accurate by making the controls less accurate then its utterly asinine.
The only logic in using the sticks would have been to use the range of motion so each jab was thrown in a differnt spot or with different speed. You dont have that. The punches thrown with the stick feel just like the punches thrown with the buttons.Comment
