Only unlimited if you don't/can't block. You are in the minority of people complaining about unlimited stamina. There is a stamina problem, no question, but it is countered by blocking. It isn't that hard to comprehend. Every single spammer I have bought has been dead tired by the end of the 3rd round at the latest. Watch the gauges in the corner...you block, you own. Pretty simple...

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
You say block block block, when do I get to punch? I've seen alot of boxing and it doesn't happen like that. Ever. I don't want to block for three rounds. I want to box. I want sim and your okay with arcade I agree to disagree.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
Honestly IMHO I think you miss his point. He wants sim too..we all do. But in order for us to win we have to play a certain way against cheesers. All he is saying is that there is a way to beat the cheese and it doesn't call for drastic measures. Until it gets fixed you (we) just have to wait out a few rounds and block until we can punish them.
I know it sucks but thats the way around it.

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
You don't just block. You have to play a chess game with his stamina meter. For example, you block 3 or 4 punches and fire off a 2-3 punch combo. Then you can choose to stay your ground inside, back away to jab/straight distance, or circle the ring.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
Next fight, just hold down block covering your midsection and watch his meter drain. Get used to blocking..don't do anything offensively. Once you get that down for a few fights...purely blocking your midsection and getting comfortable with it, step up the offensive game with it as well.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
Which style of block (textbook, philly shell or cross) tends to work best at blocking body shots?
I am slowly but surely getting better at stopping these types of players. I am currently 50-10 in the online world championship mode, ranked #56 in heavyweight division. If I could only shut down these body cheesers, I would probably be undefeated.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
I'm never playing another Duran. Every fight I've had against him has been horrible. However, I didnt' know what robopunching was until I decided to play ranked game a second ago. Dude just hooked me to the body over and over and I couldn't get away. It was like I was moving in quick sand and Duran never slowed down. Really frustrating way to lose. I didn't even last 2 rounds and I consider myself a pretty good fighter. I was trying to push him to get space and do anything I could think of but the hooks just kept coming. I'm assuming I'll see this again so hopefully I can figure something out next time.
It only lasted two rounds and he threw 387 punches.
*edit*
Just tried the online championship mode. KO'd a dude with 3 seconds left in the 10th round, he disconnected and it didn't count. I give up on everything but player matches, this is just too frustrating lol.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 06-28-2009, 05:54 AM.Comment

Uugh, that totally sucks. Wouldn't be fun at all. Pappy, did you try just blocking down low? Didn't that make his Stamina drain?

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
the problem may not even be the stamina , i think it is the physic system or whatever, the boxers recover there punches way to fast , like there arm never gets tired
notice on round 3 if u continually mash the same punch, the boxer can only do at max three punches in a row, and thats with the best quickest fighter,
and it also seems that the perfect block or dodging punches is not effective as it should be
i play with pernell whitaker and i cant dodge a punch to save my life only by doing the bob and weave, the leans or the dodges really dont work at all to well.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
I destroyed the only one I've faced. Surely dont believe he was one of the perfectionist. I'm a outside fight by nature. So, being patient and finding my spots is easy for me. I can see how some of the brawlers can get frustrated. But these guy are very beatable.
There may be a small issue w/ the game, but, the biggest issue is the user's inablilty to adjust and solve the opponent. Because they have numberous flaws in their ability, u just have to take advantage of them and stop being stubborn in your playstyle.
Especially, the slider/glitch/patch guys, Just got to suck it up and play. The game isn't going to make u a great player, your skill and knowledge will. Again, while there may be a small issue, i think there is good balance and EA has provided the tools to win.Comment

Re: Any help dealing with robopunchers?
Yeah I think he's right too. The chance for a win is there you just have to unthink your style and and try a more defensive approach and the wins will come, and the frustration will go away. I fought two last night against styles I couldn't previously beat and took a different approach and won. Although they were very close as I have a problem getting away from the stupid haymakers!
