it's funny you say that because floyd would've probably had an easier time outboxing manny and making him miss.....he should've avoided shane like he has been doing all along. he underestimated oscar and now he's underestimating shane too. we'll find out tomorrow night.....

Come on, now: You're getting out of hand here.

Castillo was elite. Corrales was elite. Hatton was unbeaten and had kicked Kostya Tszyu's azz, so he was elite at the time.

To say PBF only has laced them up against two elite fighters is quite a stretch.

did you just start watching boxing 2 years ago or something? And i love how you talk about Manny's superstition with needles (yet the guy has tattoos) when that wasn't the reason Manny wouldnt agree to Floyd's demands. It had to do with the cutoff point of testing. Floyd's people wanted testing up until the week of the fight, Manny's people wanted to cut off the testing 30 days before the fight (which is useless because you can cycle something in and out of your system in 30 days easily). Then Floyd's people said 14 days, Manny's people wouldn't back from 30.

It had to do with the time frame, not being scared of needles or any of that crap. According to Roach Manny didnt want blood taken so close to the fight because he felt it would weaken him (more BS especially since Floyd would be doing the same thing).

Manny's people also only wanted 3 tests, 1 around the time of the fight announcement, 1 30 days before the fight, 1 after the fight. Floyd wanted unlimited testing which is how it should be. It makes no sense knowing when you're going to be tested, but if you dont know when you're going to be tested and its a surprise, then you would be taking a huge risk but using something because you never know when that test will come.

Now that Mosely has done the testing there is no way Manny cannot agree to the same testing (if Floyd wins) without looking suspicious and like a coward. Like Floyd and Shane have said, it's something that needs to be done in boxing to make sure the sport is clean. Floyd and Shane have been tested quite a bit according to what was said on 24/7. Couldnt remember if they said half a dozen or a dozen times. Shane was getting ready to leave to drive to Vegas when the testers showed up for urine unannounced. Thats how it should be.

i stand corrected. (it was the drawing of the blood and weakening him). you are right. i have to somewhat agree with you at this point. this fight needs to happen for boxing and for both of their careers. manny needs to just swallow his pride, give in, and do the testing. shane did it. so now he needs to. once the fight is over, depending on the outcome, they will both be able to retire without any regrets. unless it's close, the possibly a rematch. that would be even better.....

I don't think Arum want the fight. He doesn't want to deal with PBF or Golden Boy. In addition Manny doesn't match up well with PBF.

which is why he was the one the entire time saying the fight was off, the fight is dead and looking for other opponents while the 2 sides were still trying to make the fight happen. Arum was looking for Plan B way before Plan A fell through. Then when Plan A fell through he was looking at easy opponents like Malignaggi (who ironically also called out Manny for taking something), and settled on another one of his guys who he knew was a perfect matchup and no real threat to Manny in Clottey. A guy who was defensive and wouldnt throw back and would just love having that big of a payday while Floyd goes out and fights Mosely who, at least coming into the fight, was an aggressive power puncher.

Re: Floyd Mayweather - Jim Rome Interview

The easy solution is that boxing regulations change so that blood testing is a prerequisite to every fight. At least 10 days prior to showtime.

But that would require organization on the part of the governing bodies.

It's such a crooked sport it's a shame. The fighters, for the most part, are honest people who put their dignity, heart and health on the line before stepping through the ropes.
The contrast between the fighters that fuel the sport and the pimps that run it is startling.

Oh Senator McCain, where are you??? Too bad Obama isn't a boxing fan. He wants to clean up college football and the BCS mess, it'd be nice if he made changes to help boxing as well.
