You continue to show your slavish devotion to the zero at the end of Floyd's record, all in the name of "taking care of his family."

It's just funny that you're OK with an athlete taking money over challenge. In every other sport, you sometimes see players leave teams and take less money so they can win a championship, and they're praised.

Yet one of the best boxers of this generation is the GOAT because he takes money over challenges. One of the many idiosyncrasies of this beautiful sport.

Why does no one ever keep a running list of boxers that other people "duck?" I still don't see how Pacquiao is considered the best by most of you and he hasn't beaten Floyd or Mosley (because he has refused to fight either of them) and no one bats an eye about it. But Floyd HAS to beat both Shane and Pac to not be an ******* by calling himself the best?

Money you're especially laughable because you pick and choose what Floyd quotes to use to make your arguments. So you can watch 24/7 and watch Floyd brag about his money and cars and take what he says there as fact, but in this very Jim Rome interview and numerous other places Floyd has said that MONEY MAYWEATHER is a character he created. He's selling a fight genius. I can't fathom how you haven't picked this up. Also how can you guarantee that Floyd will die broke? Are you God? Floyd's accountant? You have access to his finacial records or something? You even said he blew all his money because of back taxes he owes, which is hilarious. How do you know ALL his money has to be paid to catch up to his taxes? I'm pretty sure the only alleged amount he owed was six million dollars if anything at all. Which...get this...was allegedly paid by the Marquez fight! Again though, that's if he truly had tax problems at all. Which as he said, if you owe the government, they're gonna just come take your ****.

Anyway here in Chicago our local ESPN station did an interview with Sugar Ray Leonard where they asked him about the Mayweather thing and the first thing out of his mouth..."He has to believe that.." I'll post the link to the show when they make it available so you guys can hear for yourselves.

I remember this Wide World of Sports segment with Ali where he was running down the list of different heavyweights. Now this is when he was still an active fighter, and Ali was basically telling how he would beat all of these greats. When ur a great fighter, ur supposed to believe no one is better than u!

The Marquez fight was a joke. JMM was coming up two weight classes, to a weight where he never fought.

The De La Hoya fight was a quality win for Floyd. I've never criticized that victory.

Uh, maybe because Pacquiao only has fought anywhere near the same weight class as Floyd and Mosley for about the last 18 months?

Pac never fought above 135 before his fight with De La Hoya. Floyd hasn't fought at 135 since 2003. Manny was at 126 in 2003. Mosley hasn't fought at 135 since 1999. He was at 154 in 2003!

The marquez fight was only a joke because floyd made it look so easy. Floyd was the favorite, but people wasnt really mad at the fight until after the fight just like the baldomir fight.
Now you talk about weight, but what about the pac oscar fight. Oscar came down and weighed in at only 142. He hadnt weighed in that small since 1997. Was it a joke?

Facts deserve better treatment than you provide: Oscar De La Hoya weighed in at 145 for the Pacquiao fight. Pacquiao came in at 142.

Plus anyone who watched "24/7" could see how drained Oscar was for that fight to make weight. Even Freddie Roach said he couldn't believe how dry Oscar looked after warm-up when both the fighters and corners walked into the ring.

And yes, Oscar was compromised by that drastic weight loss. But you can't deny that it was an impressive performance by Pacquiao, who only had fought once above 130 before that fight. He essentially climbed three weight classes to beat De La Hoya. A drained DLH, but Oscar nonetheless.

I think Floyd's victory over Oscar was every bit equal to that of Manny's because Floyd climbed a weight class to one where Oscar was comfortable. Manny pummeled Oscar harder than Floyd, but Oscar clearly was drained for that fight due to the big weight loss.

Floyd stays winning. The fact that you guys are even discussing that ridiculous statement is why Floyd is a master at promoting a fight. Do you think he really thinks he's accomplished more than Ali? HE DOES THIS **** BEFORE EVERY FIGHT!!! He plays the bad guy and people pay to see him get beat. He wins the fight and he's humble after the fight.

That's where our opinions disconnect. I'm not an accountant, I'm a sports fan. And in sports, you always want to see the best compete against one another.

Besides, if you're worth $100M what's the difference when $8M is concerned? It's not going to change your lifestyle. You're not going to say "Finally I can afford a 2nd car or buy a home".
It's like me saying "If only I had 5 more dollars. Then I'd be financially secure".

I love boxing because it's a sport of heart. By refusing to fight the best, you show no heart.
Anyone who supports boxers that don't want to fight the best aren't fans of the sport.

Im from Philly a place that live for boxing....These guys are doing it in hopes to go pro and make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The thing about Ali is he was undisputedly the best of the best around him. Patterson, Liston, Norton, Frazier, Spinks, Foreman. He left no question marks. As good as Mayweather is, and the dude is pretty damn good, he still has a couple question marks on his record...one being Mosley, the other being Pacquiao. Should he beat those two, then I'd put him up there. But when you look at how Ali beat the top guys in his time vs. how Mayweather is beating the top guys in his time, there's no question who is the greatest boxer.

And as for the comment made about media today compared to back then. Ali was an WORLDWIDE icon in a time where there was no internet and no 24/7 access to media like we have today. Mayweather still has yet to reach that status.

As for him running his mouth, Mayweather is a punk and always will be a punk. You may think its for show, but before he became big, he was bullying people around my store back in Vegas. Thinking he was better than everyone. Psshh. I hope Mosley knocks his ******* down.

(i.e. julio chavez jr.). the ONLY fighter that matched him skillwise was judah, and he caught floyd and knocked him down. (glove hit the canvas). notice how floyd did NOT fight any similar fighters to judah after that fight. even an old oscar gave him a ton of trouble. shane has the will and the skill. maybe even more so than manny. floyd will avoid manny at all costs. that's no surprise. he's a threat. shane is too, little does he know. shane's experience will come in handy too. floyd has become so PREDICTABLE since after the first castillo fight. he lost that brawl and he knows it. shane can box AND brawl. so we'll see...

The fight was set, everything was ready to go for Pacquiao/Mayweather all Pac had to do was take the drug test and Mayweather had no excuse not to fight him. This is clearly about something more for some of you people because you continue to ignore that fact and ignore the fact that Pac "ducked" Mayweather AND Shane by your own definitions of the word. Why didn't Pac try to make the fight with Shane after the Mayweather fight "fell through?" He instead took the easy fight against Clottey but no one gives him **** for that. So I'm done discussing this as it's biasness and hypocrisy keeping this going.

Oscar was completely drained. Even Freddie Roach said that when they ran into each other at the UNLV track that Oscar did 3 or 4 laps and then had to stop.

On the other hand we were also told that someone in the De La Hoya camp said when De La Hoya left his hotel suite he was 147 pounds which is the stipulated weight for the fight which meant he lost two pounds in the way to the weigh in.


When De La Hoya jogged at the UNLV track two days ago he was wearing a thermal suit which is normally worn by fighters who need to lose weight and when he was asked what his weight was, he didn’t give an answer but merely tried to laugh it off.

other than marquez and de la hoya, what "elite" fighters has floyd fought in his career?.....i mean, come on. a smaller marquez (which floyd didn't bother making the weight..) and an old de la hoya....who floyd "barely" beat. floyd knew about manny's superstition about needles and even if manny did comply, floyd woulda still found a way to get out of it. manny's NEVER asked for anything out of the ordinary from any of his opponents before their fights.....
