Where do you put him in the all time level at any weight class? Ive got him top 10 easy and maybe even top 5.

I'd rather wait to see his complete body of work upon retirement. If he was to retire today, yes, he'd be in my top 10 of all time.

Robinson, Hearns, Henry Armstrong and Ray Leonard could have beaten him at welterweight. Hard to put him in the Top 30. Interesting that his victory over a 38 year old fighter who has seen his best days would prompt this poll. What are his greatest victories? Hearns would have knocked him out of the park or through the stadium.
          Top 40 Maybe

Knew this excuse would start popping up once Floyd won despite all the talk about Shane's power and yada yada yada. Some people will just never be able to give people their due.

Floyds premier class isn't WW, and there's two people you've listed that I believe have a legitimate chance against Floyd. Leonard and Hearns. Armstrong and Robinson take losses.

The glorification of past fighters is simply that, glorification. Athletes of today are superior to athletes of yesterday. Hence the reason you see Olympic records constantly broken, the new records shattering the records of old. You have immortal athletes such as Jesse Owens who'd come in last if he were to race in the 100m final today. Same applies for boxing. At least in my opinion.

The question who would he knock out of top 10. Does anyone think he would have beat Sweat Pea?

Sugar Ray Robinson would lose to PBF. You know he was more dominant at welter weight than at middle weight.

That would have been a boxing clinic. Definitely not Gatti-Ward. One for the purists. It would have been ballet with fists. Classical music instead of heavy metal.

And hell yes, I would have loved to have seen it.

This is a sound argument in most all sports, but not in boxing.
The evidence that today's boxer is so much better than yesteryears can be argued with two names; George Foreman and Larry Holmes. Both these fighters, far beyond their primes, were able to take the undefeated and undisputed heavyweight champ the distance.

Regarding the OP, Floyd has tremendous skills and I would agree he belongs in the top 10 - as a lightweight.
I don't think he's done enough yet at WW to earn that rep. He needs to fight more guys in their prime who are natural WW.
If he were to defeat Paul Williams at 147, I'd put him in the top 5 of all time.

That statement was nowhere to be found weeks ago....

no one mention his age before, now thats the excuse?

What fighter would give PBF trouble besides the long reach of williams(the only thing)

Clottley, Cotto, Pac, Berto, Bradley? Who????
