i have the 60 gb chunky PS3 i was under the assumption that it can play EVERY ps2 game since its not emulating like the 360 is, its in the hardware.

Vast I have always seen why. I am the same way, I just take the road of "I can't physically take it out their hands and change it.......soooooo... I will enjoy it as best I can".

With that said, I enjoyed the hell out of Fight Night Champion. The only areas I really disliked was the footspeed and movement. I also would like to see the punch speed ramped up closer to something like VB. Not quite as fast where it is over the top, but fast enough that the speed "looks" real.

I played some FN4 last night and it appears as if they are fighting in water the punch speed is just not realistic.

@Fist, I would REALLY appreciate it brother

I have the original 20 gig system so I know it is backwards compatible. I am not sure if the PS3 works different than the 360 or not. But I am dying to find out so I can play some VB

I agree with you here, for sure. Also give us a great legacy mode; they barely even tried this time. They better fix the records of the other boxers in legacy mode. That was a buzzkill in FN4.

Phobia just get the game. It's going to work. The PS3 is backwards compatible through hardware. Which means that it can play every single PS2 game. Unless you're worried about the game being from a different region.

And Phobia if you want the version with the incredibly deep career mode, I believe the one you want is "Hajime no Ippo 2: Victorious Road"

Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit is known in the US Victorious Boxers: All-stars.

From what I've heard, that version's gameplay is the best of all 3 games, but there's no deep career mode like in "Hajime no Ippo2: Victorious Road".

Confused yet?

Like Vast has stated, I'm 99.9% sure all the games are b/c for the PS3.
And Dang, now I'm tempted to pick up b/c PS3 just for this game.

But I'm going to try FNC first. If the Legacy Mode leaves something to be desired, I might try to find a cheap older PS3 to get Hajime no Ippo2.

I looked for mine, but its in a bin and I didn't have the energy to pull all the bins out of the storage room.

The boxing in the Fighting Spirit is definitely better than in Victorious road. In Victorious road you could actually get behind a boxer and punch them in the back of the head. It looked a bit silly at times, but man was that career mode good.

I want to enjoy the speed of the movement. Plus it seems to offer some pretty cool "little things" as people refer to them as. Such as getting hit and being on "noodle legs".

Excited to finally give this a shot. Called Gamestop and they have it for $1.99. I will break the bank going for this one :wink:
