I was getting between 40-60 punches per round....Does that sound about right...Realistically?

I don't know how I feel about it. I know I am going to do twice the amount of work to get the CPU punch numbers down. Editing Tendencies for all fighters is going to be a pain in the behind.

      Thanks Man
I feel for you Phobia but things not working can't be a design decision can it? I honestly don't know. I think they just dropped the ball again on another one of there products.

Editing tendencies will fix issues in a play now exhibition mode. But what about in legacy mode? Where you can edit sliders, but they don't work. At least in FN4 the sliders worked in your legacy.

Another thing. Does the stamina slider work?

Test it out Vast, I did not notice much difference. I think lowest I have seen against the CPU in a standard fight is in the 50% stamina range.

The only thing you can do is respond with your wallets. I already have with mine by cancelling my preorder and will never buy this game no matter how cheap in price it gets. After 2 years and ending up with htis fiasco is a complete insult to the buying public.

Hopefully sales tank and this is the last FN and another dev takes a stab at a boxing game and do it right. And it can be done in a short amount of time because the Top Spin series was taken over by a totally new dev team and within 2 years they have come out with Top Spin 4 and it looks awesome if the demo and previews is any indication and is a new game from the ground up and light years ahead of TS3. All done within 2 years. They actually listened to fans about what was wrong with TS3. Imagine that.

Obviously the slider problems with output and accuracy is a source code problem which is why it's not being fixed or at least it better be because if it's just developer arrogance then that's even worse. But how can you **** up the coding so bad when you had 2 years to make the game, and didn't really do much except make cosmetic changes if you really look at it objectively, that it's so difficult to fix 2 very important sliders.

Phobia you have been awesome with all this and I really think you should be making the next game. I don't know if you have any game programming experience but I think if all us OS members chipped in you could probably take a crash course in programming, offer your services to 2K and put out a proper boxing game in 2 years and not the cartooney crap we're getting now. And I'm only half joking.

LMAO! I love how Phobia being a good community member and looking out for us sim nation, means he gets promoted to CEO of a videogame company. I know you were half joking but its funny man.

I would love to be a producer/director on a boxing game. I'd hire Shakyr, Money99, Phobia, fistofrage. etc.

Here's hoping i come across a billion dollars.

Back on topic: EA fix the damn sliders!

I wonder if there's any chance in Hades they would be willing or able to rectify cpu punch output via a tuner set.

Boxer tendencies even at 10 clicks is still throwing more punches than I like...I'm going to drop the clicks between 1-5, 5 being the highest and see what that would do.

Right now (assuming this doesn't get fixed/patched), I'd say none of the above.

Re: Fight Night Champion Sliders Not Working

I can't remember the first game I tinkered with sliders in, but from that point til now. If I'm going to play a sports game, I need the sliders. I would rather have a game with no music, no commentators, no halftime show, no homerun camera, and no dozens of other potential presentation settings. As long as I have working sliders, I can make the game play exactly what I deem to be fun. In my case, a "realistic challenge". A level where you go into every fight, match, game, or anything else, knowing that you have an equal chance of losing as you do winning. But at the same time, your losses will not come from the CPU AI knowing your plays ahead of time, having super stats in crunch time, forced comeback logic, the list goes on.

I strongly believe one of the subtle, not so talked about reasons that the Show and NBA 2k11 are so revered and praised as the ultimate successes in sports-simulation gaming is because everyone, with the options and sliders that these games provide, end up with a game that becomes completely suited to their liking. EA, for all of their money, manpower, and licenses, have yet to figure out the concept of working sliders. The fact Fight Night is still based on a 1 - 10 system is asinine in and of itself. How "custom" and to your liking can you really make something with only 10 clicks to choose from? It's one thing for them to only have 10 clicks, and it's one thing for them to not be anywhere near as effective as they should be (hey guys, remember me? I'm Fight Night Round 4's "0" setting for counter punch window, and yet, I still existed and you got to see lightning hit the ring every 3 seconds like Zeus was ringside causing it every time he cheered). But for them to flat out do almost nothing? Completely unacceptable. I read this earlier today and hoped for the best. Now that I've attempted it myself? Every bit as bad as everyone is describing it.

The people I feel the worst for are two types. One, the people that don't even know what a forum is, let alone that they exist for video games, sports games, simulation gamers, sliders, etc. Two, just as bad, people that don't have access to download tuner sets and/or patches. The game they bought today is the game they'll always have.

I don't care how big EA sports is, or better yet, how big they think they are. You can always fall. Ask any of the dozens of business that are much bigger than EA, that had to declare bankruptcy, close down, downsize, or need huge bailouts to continue to exist. EA is now just as well known as a gimmick pushing video game company that only cares about appealing to the casual fan for profits, as they are for anything else. They don't actually care about the sport they're "trying" to re-create, and it shows every year. They just make video clips of them talking about when they fell in love with this sport or when they started watching that sport, etc. Guess what? Watching the Food Network for 10 years won't make you an expert chef, will it? So why do these guys think having never put on a pair of boxing gloves that they're in some way qualified to define what's simulation and what makes for a realistic game? If they understood, they wouldn't have to create an 8 hour motion picture inside of a game to get sales. It's very, painfully obvious that they don't understand most of the sports they're trying to re-create.

Congratulations EA. Much like where you're at with football nowadays. You're the only company that even puts out boxing games anymore, and you still manage to make people wish for a non existent game or game company to come along and make one better, often just to put you away for good and leave their sport alone. Pat yourself on the back, you've done it again.

                                good post

To their credit the gameplay is closer than ever to where we want it. The gameplay is the best out of any boxing game to date. With that being said, it shouldn't be that hard since you're the only one making boxing games for the last 9 years. (only Victorius boxers and Prizefighter and a few others were made since 2001; but those games were created before the surge in simulation gaming. Prizefighter was created kind of recently but that game was trash and we saw the stoner surfer producer that game had )

We're telling you what to add to the game. You don't even have to come up with ideas. Just implement what the nation wants.
