Please take this discussion to another topic. It's killing the topic. I told the producers to watch this thread for ideas, but it's straying from the topic.

Re: Legacy Mode Wishlist/Suggestions
I only bring it up because it has much of what you put in your first post. Training is a Buchanan's of decisions not a series of mini games.
The last VMWare with dynamic rankings was holyfields boxing on sega. I remember fighting till I was champ and then umtol I was and no longer ranked.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Re: Legacy Mode Wishlist/Suggestions
I like the idea of the popularity meter they introduced in the past. But it needs to be refined and used in a Managers mode.
Have a local and global popularity meter. Some fighters will be great to sell tickets locally, while others will have world recognition.
So you'll want to keep the local hero happy and fed so that you can sell more tickets to local shows.
With more money, you can build up your stable and hopefully attract world-class talent and eventually get a guy with tremendous global appeal where you can earn millions.Comment

Re: Legacy Mode Wishlist/Suggestions
I read about half the posts on the second page so I'm just gonna weigh in on that discussion about fighter's punching power. I happen to disagree with the notion that a fighter's power is pretty much set his entire career. Your power largely depends on your your size (mostly weight), technique, accuracy, and more importantly, your metality.
Anyways, my personal wishlist for Legecy mode starts with career management and the decision making process and negotiations that go into setting up fights.
I want to be asking the appropriate questions when scheduling a fight... where am I in my career? Is this the right opponent to me? What will a loss do to my career? I want the CPU asking the same questions.
Example, early in my career after winning, say, my first 5, I drop one. Now I want a chump to help rebuild my confidence and public perception. So I'm working on an undercard fight at a local Armory against some chump... the question is, does that chump want me? Maybe he's got confidence he can take me, so he takes the fight for the exposure, or maybe he's unwilling to take on someone who can potentially beat him and set him back at that point. Maybe he'll fight you, but he wants 60% of the purse no matter what the result of the match is.
Building on that... there are a lot of fighters that, toward the end of their careers, are trying to find that payday. Money has to be a factor in Legacy Rating. There should be a point, late in my career, where I'll take on a big name and be stripped of a less prestigious title for the sake of a 6 or 7 figure payday.
Additionally, television should be a fairly big deal. Getting on ESPN is a start, but my goal should be the big paydays on HBO and PPV. I don't want to automatically be the main event whenever I show up on television (that annoys me to death!), but I should work undercards for a while.
I guess I am just looking for a more dynamic, interesting, and realistic career management system. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

Re: Legacy Mode Wishlist/Suggestions
This... Micky Ward is perhaps the best example. He was a heavyweight style power puncher in a Jr. Welterweight's body, but he never had that much strength. He was a flash knockout guy who just knew where to hit you and he went after that relentlessly.

Also, making money a factor somehow will also open up the dynamics of your fighters career.
You might not ever go up the ranks with a poor record, but fans might demand to see you because of your style and charisma.
I loved FNC, but legacy mode has some ways to go. There NEEDS to be a way to incorporate Champion and Legacy mode together.
Obviously start out as a young feller, get noticed by scouts, earn entry into Amateur championships. Get an offer to turn pro and be sponsored. Then as you said have options and choices in the way of who you want to fight, how much, what winning/losing will mean for you etc.
There could be random occurances of you take a charity event and some 'fan' gets violent and throws something that injures you, and you can't fight but your opponent is calling you out for trying to back out of the fight now. (All this happening in a cinematic sort of scene).
It seems easier to say than to actually get it done. But we need something like that. Champion mode is a step in the right direction. The evolution of it is to bring in choices/branching story, RPG like elements etc.Comment
