2k back to makin a boxing game sounds like a brilliant idea to completely wash easports out of the map. -

If they're as serious about boxing as they are about NBA2K, I'm excited and EA better be worried. We all know they've nearly put EA out of business with the NBA. I wish the NFL would drop the exclusive deal with Madden because it's sucked ever since NFL2K went out of business.Comment

I'm lazy and don't feel like confirming his claims regarding early information about Tekken-Street Fighter. Is that true?
If so, perhaps the guy does have a few sources here or there.
Still, for all we know, this is 100% bull. Or perhaps it's only at the planning stages without one line of code being written.
I'm not getting my hopes up and will take this information for what it is.
But if this were to become reality, some of the things he speaks about are really cool.
Having your own 24/7 show, dynamic and organic commentary, HBO, etc.
Seeing how deep and involved NBA's My Player is, you can see what they could do for boxing.
But they'd have to get Mayweather's name on the game. No question. I don't think there's room for 2 boxing gams, so you need a big name to promote your game.
Everyone, even non-boxing fans, know Mayweather.
That's the right thing for 2K to do if they're going to produce another boxing game.
Hopefully, if this is true, we'll get more details about this further down the road.Comment

this guy is ok . He has connections in the gaming industry. I have been bugging him to ask 2K for nearly a year about a boxing game.Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Comment

BTW if this is true then we pretty much know why the asking price for PBF in FNC was "unrealistic"Last edited by Jukeman; 09-25-2011, 08:10 PM.Comment

Take-Two has a boatload of cash though.
They own the GTA, Red Dead, Bioshock and several other high quality IP's.
If they want to make a run on boxing, they have more than enough $$$ to help fun 2K with the project.
That's why I'm skeptical. I doubt there's that much money in boxing.
But, I believe EA signs all their fighters to 1-year contracts. So I suppose there's some legitimacy to the idea of 2K getting the rights to several of the fighters seen in FNC.
Besides, perhaps some of these legends and current boxers might not agree to exclusivity of they know another company wants their rights.
Time will tell I suppose. I'll be interested to hear more news.Comment
