I'm sure EA is shaking in their boots that an underfunded, and most likely unpolished boxing game will hurt them somehow. It was the same with NHL2k, the same with MLB2k and their only competition there was The Show on one platform and a handheld.

Take Two either has zero confidence in any team except the NBA team, and really with how bad Live was for a while NBA2k selling enough to get money pumped into it's development isn't a shock, or they fear how much it would cost to actually have a sports line on even ground with EA's.

I don't think VC deserves passes for a terrible hockey and baseball title since the move to next gen, underfunded or not. They're wholely owned by take two, it's not like they're some 3rd party dev seperated from the publisher.

There's a reason, probably multiple reasons Take Two didn't have faith in their other skus/teams enough to cancle them outright.

VC took over for NHL2K10 and MLB 2K12.
Both games were an absolute mess when they were given the job and I think VC did a great job with the limited time, and faulty builds they had to work with.

I really enjoy MLB2K12 and I think if VC were given a fresh start, it would be right up there with NBA2K. Same with NHL.

So I truly believe VC could make a great boxing game.
But if EA can't make a go of it, then nobody else is going to give it a shot.

Fight Night is dead and I fear we won't see another console boxing game for a few years. At least until next gen comes out. Even then...

You went with me to the EA Community Event when Round 4 was being made and I was a Senior Moderator on EA forums. So, I/we know how nervous the producers and EA were. I hate when people guess but don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

You throw EA Sports in the title instead of 2K and people would be ready to bury EA alive if this was their product. Because it is a 2k product though people give it a pass. I am not cool with that.

I am a 2k fan in large part due to their football and basketball games being better than what EA has produced, but that does not mean I blindly let 2k slide for things done wrong. Prize fighter was nothing to praise, especially if you are comparing it to FNC. All the faults FNC had it still is far superior than Prize Fighter by a large large margin.

I'm not a fan of the Prizefighter game. I'm just saying if 2K used their in house team Visual Concepts instead of Venom Games Inc. they probably would have made a far superior game than EA.
Visual Concepts captures a sport down to the littles detail, especially when the resources are there for a project.

It's not as bad as it looked...I should have played with my created character because they guy I was controlling was terrible. I couldn't really do anything with him, jabs were off, arm swings were whack. And his over reach and movement wasn't there....

But I removed the video...so it doesn't matter, I get it people you hate the game as a whole and that's cool.

Its not that I "hate" the game, I just judge everything based on the same measuring stick. Its a poorly animated, sloppy mess of a boxing game with more issues than I can list here. Lining up all boxing games produced it would fall to the back of the pack for terms of quality and mimicking the sport.

Now I do agree, take the VC team that created NFL2k5 and throw them on a project to produce a realistic boxing game and I truly believe they will squash the Fight Night series. I just don't feel 2k products should get a pass based on their developing track record. I still judge each game by a game by game bases.

Also, why did you put this as the message for removing the video?? "can't post my videos on OS anymore"

The one thing that Don King got right was stamina. All of EA's fight games struggle with stamina which allow for spamming with power punches. If a company could build of FNC graphics and Don King's stamina we would have a decent boxing game.

I can't remember which had better foot work and movement but again Don King's boxing saving grace was their stamina model.

I'D love if Visual Concepts applied a signature skill/abilities system + an attribute system to a boxing title.....

I agree. I actually had a list similar to the Signature Skill/Ability I sent to EA before.
