    Re: Boxing Off-Topic

If anyone missed lubin vs fundora you missed a classic!! great technical infighting excellent counterpunching and a display of courage and heart from both!! unfortunately I think Lubin just ended his career!! he took so much punishment his face swelled up to a point that I have never seen in a fight it looked like he had a mask on at the end!! fundora suprised me he is stronger than I thought and takes a punch better than I thought along with sneaky defense and a relentless come forward style who never stops punching!! kubin made this fight hard by staying in the pocket too long instead of punching in angles and moving fundora with slip and circle moves!! when he did do it he hurt fundora but he fought fundoras fight!! a benavides vs fundora fight would be hagler vs hearns all over again!!
and on another note GGG is done he looks nothing like himself from even two years ago!! canelo would hurt him!! great weekend of boxing!!

      Re: Boxing Off-Topic

edaddy I've read that alot about GGG but I didn't see it that way.

Murata is an olympic champ and put on enormous pressure early just like Drevchenko.

G got hit with some body shots and a few uppercuts but ultimately he turned it around and stopped his man. I thought it was a very entertaining fight too.

But I'm not so sure G could have just stomped him out if he was younger. He was hitting him with shots that made me wince on the couch! I just don't think Murata seems like the type of dude that can't get KO'd ...

Anyway, yes Canelo would have the biggest advantage yet over G, but as others have pointed out Canelo isn't a pressure fighter with volume of punches that gives G trouble - it IS true that G would have to worry about the body punches and that his defence to the body is awkward. He contorts like he's trying to escape someone slapping him on the bum lol... also he pushes the punching hand down towards his groin often making it worse.

Another issue with G's defense is he can slip well, but he just doesn't do it often and instead opts for blocking with his arms which isn't the best vs Canelo.

HAving said all of that I would still give him a chance albiet more like 25% rather than 50%.

The weight will be another issue as well which will slow G down - BUT let's see how Canelo does as everyone seems just be just giving him the win vs Bivol.

GGG blocked punches with his face all night. Canelo will tear him apart badly if they fight again

I agree to a point!! But unlike other fights canelo no longer has to pressure GGG who has slowed to a point where his reflexes and timing is off!!! the GGG in that ring was a shell of himself and he has noticeably declined in the last 2 years!! aldo im one of the people thst think Canelo might lose his fight to Bivol!! this might be where a good big man always beats a good little man!!

I actually wouldn't be surprised at all if Bivol beat Canelo. Will he? No idea.... But it's a matchup I'm definitely looking forward to seeing

Seems like he’s bulking up (maybe naturally). No doubt he’ll be slower but how will he carry his power to 175? Adonis S was demolishing as ever going from 168 to 175 but he didn’t start as a Junior middleweight.

This is a very tough matchup for Canelo. I'm not a gambling man, but I'm liking Bivol more and more as the fight approaches. The thing that bothers me is I think Bivol has to stop him. I don't think Canelo EVER loses a decision on DAZN unless he's beaten pillar to post for 12 rounds.... He's too big of a cash cow to lose a competitive fight that goes the distance

Great show put on by both fighters!! this was the true definition of the art of boxing infighting!! I love Spence his technical skills are off the chan!! he has slowly lost some leg movement bu he is able to get away with it duetohis boxing skills!! ugas took some punishment but is all heart!! we need spence vs crawford now both have slipped just a little enough to make it a war!!they need to set up match and rematch one in dallas one in nebraska!!

Conor Benn looked ferocious as usual, but it's definitely time for him to take the next step. Need to start seeing him square off against some legit contenders.

It was a great fight while it lasted. Ugas represented himself well I thought and you could tell right after the uppercut that there was an injury rather than just being 'stunned'. Ugas just didn't know how to deal with Spence's in-fighting, especially with his head 'down', I also really liked how Spence handled the post-fight getting immediately to the point - Crawford.

                      Let's see it.

Agreed and spence is the master of getting angles and throwing straight punches on the inside!! Ugas biggest mistakes were keeping his head down for that uppercut and allowing himself to easily get countered on tue inside due to his looping punches!!

Right? Lol.... He's become quite freakishly talented. Hope he doesn't retire. The heavyweight division just wouldn't be the same without him right now
