Can’t believe I spent the money on that lol.. I’d like to see a rematch, that was uneventful as hell.

Good **** from Tank, still waiting for the replay on that punch [emoji102] didn’t even see it

Not sure I've ever seen a body shot with that long of a delayed effect. It took 5-7 seconds after the shot before Garcia went to a knee.

You could see on his face when he took the knee he was pissed because I think he knew he was done. Replay didn’t even look that crazy, wonder if he cracked a rib.

Garcia post fight interview was weird. Wouldn’t really talk about why he went down and didn’t get back up. Was just like “sure yeah I couldn’t breathe”.

Based on where the punch landed and the angle of Davis' punch, I think he may have gotten Garcia in the liver (from just below the bottom rib). If you get hit in the liver, he hurts like hell internally, like taking a shot to the testicles, you feel it throughout your body and it lingers.

Davis deserved the win. From the get go he looked determined whereas Garcia looked timid at the start and seemed straight up scared after getting knocked down the first time.

Definitely let off the gas after the first knockdown. Tank patient and precise. Was trending towards a pretty easy win for him anyways.

If they fight again I’m assuming Garcia will stay more aggressive. First knockdown obviously didn’t phase him, but he definitely let it hurt him on the score cards the next couple of rounds.

The report from ShowTime's unofficial scorer Steve Farwood was that round 2 was scored 10-10, 10-9 Tank and 10-9 Tank despite Garcia being knocked down. I doubt the veracity of that report because the odds that all three would come to that outrageous conclusion is close to nil.

I thought 10-9 was fine, how many punches did he even land like 3? Aside from that knock down Ryan had won that round more handily than he did round 1.

Idk how you score a knock down round 10-10 though.

No, 10-9 is not fine. A single knockdown in a round is scored 10-8 99.9999%of the time. The only time it isn't is if the guy that hit the canvas was administering a severe beat down before he got caught.

I wonder if Tank takes on the Lomo-Haney winner within a year?

Apparently it was fine as refer to your screenshot [emoji23].

Ryan was winning the round, I don’t that it’s crazy even if rare. It happens. Again maybe if Tank did anything at all outside that 1 punch, but that wasn’t the reality.

                          Regardless, 10-10 is wild

Garcia was winning that round before the first knockdown BUT it was nowhere near the kind of dominant display that would make it 10-9. Glad it didn’t have to go to points.

Tank did a gray job of taking away Ryan’s left. I thought Garcia should have kept at it with the straight right. He was having success with it, especially early on when he was pressuring Tank.

Tank is just a superior boxer. Better IQ, footwork, explosive, etc…

Need to see him in there with Haney

The judge who scored it 10-10 was Dave “you can count on my scorecard to be shady” Morretti

That was honestly not a particularly good fight IMO. I thought it was actually a bit boring. Not that I expected all-action fireworks from those 2 guys, but I was hoping for a bit more engagement on both sides. I suppose the result was ultimately what I thought it was going to be, but how we got there was pretty disappointing.

Re: Garcia not getting up, as anyone that's ever been slugged in the gut before knows, it's not so much that you are in pain (although there is that) or don't want to get up, it's mostly that you physically can't get up. Your body just doesn't cooperate, even though you are fully conscious and may want to get up desperately. It looks bad (because your eyes are open and you are aware of what's happening), and it kinda sucks because if you had 30-60 seconds to recover, you could keep going no problem, but there just isn't enough time in the 10-count for your body to start working again.

I give Garcia a ton of credit for wanting/making this fight, as he could have easily just opponent-managed for a few more years and continued to pocket loads of cash, then taken the fight when his star was fading (aka the modern boxing career playbook). I hope he goes on to have a great career and continues to take risks by fighting the best, because it would be terrible if this derailed him, as future fighters will then be even less willing to take the risk of fighting top opponents in their prime.

As for Gervonta Davis, I think it's unclear what happens next for him. First things first, he's gotta worry about whether he's going to jail or not, as I think he has a court date next month for a prior hit-and-run (or some such felonious behavior). After that...hard to know. If he stays at 135, he basically can't win the meaningful titles there, because Davis isn't a Top Rank guy and the current champion (Haney) is. No way Top Rank lets those belts walk out the door, and I'm sure they know Davis probably KO's Haney. Also, Haney is fighting Lomo this spring, so it's not even clear who the champ at 135 will be in 1 months' time.

Anyway, from my perspective it was a pretty disappointing night of fights.
