The announcement came some days ago but Beterbiev-Barrera has been called off apparently because of contract/logistical problems. A bout with Enrico Koelling is in the works put I doubt they put it on PPV.

Chavez is a light heavy masquerading as a near-middleweight. He'll be drained as hell in his fight against Canelo. But Chavez's punches can crack, and his jaw is tungsten, like his old man. Too bad he's beyond lazy in his training habits and can't box.
I'm praying for a motivated Chavez to pull a Buster Douglas in this one.
If he trains hard, and goes in there completely mentally and physically prepared, I think he wins.
But knowing him, he'll probably win, then pull a NC after they find out he abused diuretics or weed. Probably both.

About a 5-1 underdog right now, but I'd be surprised to see it. He struggled with Rubio (who Pavlik and GGG toyed with), got almost whitewashed against Sergio who broke his hand in the 4th round and injured his knee (although Martinez was knocked down in the final round mostly because of his hyper-aggressiveness), and hasn't knocked anybody out in forever. I won't even throw the Fonfara fight in there because he wasn't prepared at all and looked stoned. He's clearly the naturally bigger man so that's something.

I'd like to see the fight buy doubt if I'll purchase the PPV.

just saw a pic of junior and he is already down to 172....and looks ripped. maybe junior has ideas of an upset and going against GGG in a mega payday himself. de la hoya has the fight set for september with all parties in agreement. so what happens IF canelo loses to junior????

It's set? GGG took the $15 million flat fee?

Ward-Kovalez rematch official for June 17th in Las Vegas. It will be an HBO PPV event and Ward will be on the high end of a 60/40 split.

Maybe the officials will judge this fight properly, unlike the first bout. One can only hope.

it's not official....yet. however, unless canelo vs. junior does not do well in ppv (which is unlikely), that might help GGG with leverage. canelo was guaranteed around $12 million for the floyd fight, so $15 million looks fairly reasonable. still hard to figure when GGG is a champion and still undefeated.

didn't think ward would be ready to rush into a rematch but it can't do worse than 160,000 ppv buys like before.....

Yeah, I wonder how the money is distributed after the boxers get their share? The live gate was $3.3 million and PPV brought in another $10.7 million. With the boxers' purses totaling $7 million (W-$5M, K-$2M) I wonder how much HBO made if any?

Lomachenko's good friend and fellow Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will be fighting on the main undercard of Lomo's main event tonight for the WBO Cruiserweight title (HBO).

Acknowledged as the best cruiserweight in the business it shouldn't be too long before the 6'3" Usyk gives the heavies a try. The guy is so fluid and he can bang too.

usyk is the real deal...lomachenko looked incredible as usual. if anything, the loss made him an even better fighter than he was before, if that's even possible. a rematch with salido looks like a mismatch as good as he looked last night.

Usyk is legit, but I question his power. He threw a TON of arm punches while trying to finish Hunter, with no success. Hunter may have a tungsten jaw, but Usyk's punches were looping, with no torso or hip torque, at the executioner's time.

Lomachenko is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, hands down. Other than Mikey Garcia at 135, this guy has zero competition at 130 or 135. And by the time he reaches 140, Crawford probably already will be fighting at 147.

The biggest problem for Lomachenko will be avoiding boredom.

One aside from last night's card: HORRIBLE officiating by Bill Clancy, Harvey Dock and Kenny Chevalier. All three of them let fights continue at least a round too long while guys were taking tremendous punishment.

The adage, "He's throwing punches back" should not be applied to let a fighter continue despite being pummeled. That wasn't counter-punching by the three guys being battered -- it was "wounded animal" instinct to flail at any attacker immediately before the death.

We're lucky no one was seriously hurt on that card last night. End the fight at the proper time and let the losing fighter return without serious injury or possible permanent damage shortening his life.

As expected. Manny doesn't control his career. Manny fights Jeff Horn July 1. I am sure it will be ppv. What a joke.
