    Fight 5 (Spoiler for suspense!):
    Spoiler
Every time I ran a fight night tournament it was always Hearns and Mayweather facing eachother late in the tourney after cutting through the competition. I went back to read the thread of the last time I ran it and it was this....

(Me) Hearns vs. Mayweather......You wanted the best, you got the best. The fight did not disappoint. Hearns came out trying to connect from range, and Floyd waitd to counter. Hearns threw and Floyd waited for his chance. Hearns stayed on the outside racking up jabs with the occasional hook thrown in. Floyd couldn't get in range to counter. He kept doing what Floyd does, waiting patiently and landing when he could. He rocked Hearns in the 6th round. Once again the same old theme, volume puncher landing punches, but Floyd was judicious with his punches and was never in any danger. Hearns landed a lot, but nothing that really got to Mayweather. Round after round, Hearns threw and Floyd blocked. Hearns was tiring around the 10th round, and Floyd landed some flurries, but Hearns stood tough. The crowd waited with baited breath, did Floyd do enough to win?

Not tonight. Hearns wins the UD. 116/112 on all 3 cards. No Knockdowns.

I see the fight playing out like that over and over in real life unless Hearns lands a bomb in the early rounds.

      I agree.
He had a prime Leonard beat over 12 rounds.
And some might argue that Leonard was a better welterweight than Floyd.

Who's the hardest puncher Floyd faced at welterweight?.....Victor Ortiz??

Who's the longest boxer Floyd faced at welterweight?

Was Floyd in a hurry to fight Thurman, who's B+ power doesn't rate with Tommy's all time power?

And forget Floyd hurting Tommy, who didn't have a granite chin, but it wasn't that bad.

In a real, real life simulation Floyd waits for Tommy to grow out of 147 where Canelo ducks him and then you have Hearns-GGG or Hearns-Jacobs.

I see 147 Hearns winning 90 to 95 out of 100 fights with Floyd. Floyd just isn't active enough to win the decision or powerful enough to get the KO. Hearns would have to beat himself by getting countered or running out of gas. Floyd would basically be what Broner is now if he was in the 147 class circa 1980 with the quality fighters in that division.

looks like mayweather-mcgregor is closer to reality.....at least on conor's end. it will be interesting to see how quickly a deal is done with floyd seeing how badly he's been wanting this fight. he was quoted in the past as saying that all conor had to do was sign for the fight. we'll see....

Enrico Koelling provides fresh meat for Artur Beterbiev on July 29th.

Can't they at least put AB in with Joe Smith?

Crawford coasted as expected. This Gervonta Davis might make Floyd even more money. He's actually an action fighter with power.

Crawford's 140 division is currently absent of big names so he needs a catchweight fight with Pac or for Mikey Garcia to move up (which is soon coming). I don't think he will fight at 147 in the near future.

just my opinion, but conor should get the 60-40 split.....he's going to boxing to fight floyd, so floyd needs him, he doesn't need floyd. total mismatch anyways, so if you are doing it for the money, conor, at least get paid the most in the split. there is NO demand for this fight, it will be just hype and spectacle. conor has zero boxing matches to his credit, so to bill this as a legit fight is just plain ridiculous. it should be exhibition ONLY and NOT count toward floyd's 50th win.

I am completely embarrassed that I had no idea who Gervonta Davis was prior to this weekend. That said I did go to showtime anytime and watch the fight in which he won the IBF title. Tank is a very appropriate name for him. Kid packs a punch to be sure, but the one thing that struck me while his KO in the Pedraza fight was brutal, he also hit that man flush with a liver punch and didn't drop/stop him then. Something to keep an eye on.

I think they should both get a 60-40 split of nothing.

LOL, Rob, are you saying that "Tank" doesn't have a body punch?

I love watching this kid. Immediately after the fight, Floyd says he's in no hurry to match Gervonta against Lomachenko, and there's no reason to.
