Re: Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao DEAL DONE

fight was boring. should have happened YEARS ago. outcome is meaningless to me. watching boxing since the 70s, i would still list Pac ahead of Floyd among best fighters i've seen...fought better competition in his prime. same reason i would put Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, etc, etc ahead of him as well. nothing against Floyd, sometimes it's just happenstance when it comes to your opposition/era.

if if IF it's true that an MRI revealed a tear in Manny's shoulder a couple weeks before the fight, would anyone want to see a rematch? i would, but i wouldn't pay for it....

Case and point, this is EXACTLY what i was talking about, people wanted pac to win so bad and don't like floyd, they really don't like giving him credit. Don't know how you can list pac ahead of floyd when floyd beat him while he was 2 years older, and not to mention floyd fought a bunch of the same guys he fought, but when they were younger. It's not even debatable that floyd is clearly better than pacquiao. Probably not TBE(the best ever). But definitely better than pacquiao.

I also feel like some people said this fight was boring because it wasn't the outcome they wanted("this fight was stupid cus floyd won" I wasn't expecting a brawl or war. People are salty as hell right now, including pacquiao himself.

First he said he won. Now a shoulder injury? No, I wouldn't pay a dime for a rematch.

All due respect, no way, no how Pac gets rated over Floyd on the best fighter list.

Watch, i guarantee people for this fight will be saying floyd ran and didn't fight like a man, becausue he didn't stand there and let pacquiao hit him, and landing more punches. A lot of people reeeally don't like to give floyd credit.
I hear you SPRING, but all you have to do is read this thread to see if anybody gives Floyd credit.

Doesn't Mayweather give Mayweather enough credit to Mayweather about Mayweather?

Pac hurt Mayweather twice, but couldn't finish him because of Floyd's unique Defense...one of the best ever imo. Pac was just too slow & it showed. I would've have LOVED to see Ray Robinson vs Floyd Mayweather both in their primes. my money would be on SRR fo sho.

You really want to see salty, just check out the reactions of folks from ESPN and Deadspin, the two sites that went hard on the domestic violence issues.

Re: Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao DEAL DONE

Floyd is like the Spurs of boxing.
People will come out the woodworks to watch the playoffs and call the Spurs boring because they "only play defense."

They just want threes and fast paced basketball. It's the same with these main events. They watch the highlights of Tyson knocking out a boxer and think boxing should be the same: some frenetic display of UFC type brawls that end with both boxers bloody.

Mayweather plays defense and the majority hates watching defense. It's why they hate baseball games that finish 2-1 with 20 strikeouts and expertly played hockey with a higher emphasis on dumping the puck to keep control of the ice.

That and people hate Mayweather because he's undefeated. They'll point to things like domestic abuse (and no one is condoning that crap. He's a terrible human being. But that doesn't matter when evaluating him as a boxer so stop it) to shut down others and deliver their point but outside of that their only argument is he's boring. And well, you can start this post from the beginning to understand why.

EDIT: Did anyone else notice Floyd's lead rights were coming in with a little more power?

Floyd beat the better competition and Pac then cleaned up the scraps after Floyd had beat a lot of the guys. Not sure what world you're living in.

I don't think Floyd softened up Hatton, Oscar, and Mosley for Pacquiao. Hatton was a free falling alcoholic, and Mayweather's battles with Oscar and Mosley weren't exactly wars.

I had it 116-112. I was rooting HARD for Manny in this one, but after round 2, I looked at my brother and said "it's not happening."

There were some brief moments of excitement, but Mayweather took this one without much trouble. Manny just doesn't have the ability to make the type of adjustments necessary to turn things around under those circumstances. I keep hoping I'll wake up and it'll happen differently... =(
