Re: Undisputed Early Access Impressions - Coming for the Belt
I really, really, really, want to like this game. There are some nice elements to it and at moments it seems like real boxing...and then, it is not.
I just played a pretty decent match as Frazier against Ali (CPU). I dominated the whole fight and won an easy decision. Overall though, the fight felt decent. However, Ali threw very few punches. This was on Intermediate level.
So I decided to move to Pro level and play the reverse: Ali (me) vs Frazier (CPU). I won by a knockout in the 6th round. I knocked Frazier down 5 times during the fight. Frazier was a punch throwing machine. I mean 85-95 punches a round. And by the way I was playing on 1.5X speed. It was NOT like a real fight at all.
This game has a LONG way to go at this point. I am hopeful they will fix things, but so far, it just isn't that goodComment

Re: Undisputed Early Access Impressions - Coming for the Belt
Biggest issues with this game currently, vs CPU:
1. Still very little visual damage.
2. CPU loses basically no stamina what so ever. Even after a 12 round fight they be at 98 or 99%.
3. You throw a body shot and 3 or 4 punches come out. This is highly annoying.
4. Not enough sweat.
5. Uppercuts don't do enough damage and come out too slow for my liking.
6. The get up off the canvas mini game needs to go. It is highly annoying. Nobody wants to do all of that.Comment

Re: Undisputed Early Access Impressions - Coming for the Belt
VS CPU is much better now. It's easy - but at least you can box and the CPU isn't a counter-window machine/terminator. Not amazing but much better.
I also really like Patterson - he's 87 rated but I'm beating the usual suspects online (ali, fury) with him. he's a very balanced fighter and the first 'peek-a-boo' style.
Just won a decision with Jacobs as well vs Khan and only did Loma single player as I just can't do lefty's - it's a different mindset. Jacobs is pretty good solid 80s rated guy as well.
I'm now 118-88-1 w/ 2000 rounds boxed in ranked. I have a 56% KO% which would be 60 if guys didn't alt f4 after getting dropped.
I also like to mix it up and regularly use Patterson, sometimes Frazier and Louis for the Heavies. MW is the one division I use 90s rated a lot because there is a big drop off - but I use Canelo, Robinson, Nigel Benn,Froch and now Jacobs - LW/WW I'll use a mixed bag but Hatton is one I like as well as Garcia (probably because of his upcomming fight) I love getting the wins w/ guys lower rated vs the best (especially Fury, I effing HATE when people choose him)Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

so I'd be fine with way more damage but would like to see all accuracy go down. If the other punches were slower but animated a bit better that would go a long way to getting more realistic matches. Today I lost to a step back straight guy doing it 40 times/rd and it comes out lightning quickLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Another hot fix today, FYI.- Fixed bug around fighter selection and favourites.
- Fixed boxer's facial reactions snapping off after a punch.
- Fixed deformations staying on longer than intended.
- Updated the range of motion for weaving near ropes.
- Dodging near ropes should feel more responsive.
- Boxer's faces should now react when they are low stamina.

Re: Undisputed Early Access Impressions - Coming for the Belt
Recently purchased the game. As a primarily offline player, I really like this game. The movement of the fighters feels really smooth and responsive, as well as throwing punches. Still struggling with the controls from time to time, but the learning experience is really fun.
If anyone is having doubts about picking this game up, I would recommend it.

Re: Undisputed Early Access Impressions - Coming for the Belt
A.I. has improved in my brief time with it. Played a couple of matches Calzaghe(me) vs Roy Jones Jr.(cpu) and they were certainly fighting differently than before. Usually they would just come straight forward and attack the body, constantly stalking you like Prime George Foreman. In the matches I fought, RJJ was patient in the beginning of the match focusing on his defense and got more aggressive as the match went on. I fought at default settings (casual, default difficulty) only adjusting the damage modifier ( to 2.0) and stamina modifier (to 1.5). Hoping to test it on Simulation and Undisputed level later. I highly recommend anyone playing this game to raise the damage and stamina modifiers for more dynamic gameplay.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Yeah the AI got a huge upgrade. No longer feel like you fighting a punching bag. The AI actually actively engages with you, especially in the later rounds. They still take way too many jabs to the face. But it is nice to see them lean back from time to time to avoid some of them or duck. Their counter game is on point now too. Got caught a few times because I wasn't use to the AI countering like that before. So yeah, huge step in the right direction. AI still don't lose stamina at the same rate as you though. After 10 rounds they still had over 90% stamina, where as I was in the 30s.Comment
