    Online Destroyed Again

When I first started playing online I was loveing it. Started a respectable
5-0 with 2 fights going the distance.

And then it happened......I fought someone who used the face buttons to throw punches. I even tried to counter this strategy by letting him punch his stamina way down to about a quarter full. Mine was at around 3/4. It is important to note the fighters we were using in this fight. He was James Toney and I was Ali.

I figured now that his stamina down I will launch the offensive...but wait he still to fast to even counter his punches he his litterally throwing 4 or 5 punches to my one. So I back off and adjust strategies again, I figure since he is just throwing like a mad man I will step in and out and score with power punches try to bring him down. This seems to work for abit and I go in for the kill he counters my aggression with none stop lightning fast flurries that my anolog using self just cant keep up with. I managed to drag this out to the last round were I was finally ko'ed.

I checked the scores at the end and I maybe won one round the whole fight. Final punch count was well over a thousand to around 300.

Just cant compete with that, when asking him why he dosent use the anolog sticks...well is response was simple..."the buttons are so much faster obviously"

EA said they corrected this issue by making the TPC a faster system this go around...well I guess they flat out lied, cause it is no different in speed compared to last year.

Wow, I haven't played online yet (I want to beat the game before I go online). But it seems that the counterpunches should have knocked him out with his stamina being down. I hope I don't run into alot of this online. If so, I'll just use the buttons and whip teir butts that way.

I agree, I stop playing online yesterday because sooooooooooooo many people are using buttons instead of the analog stick. The buttons remove all stradegy from the game. Then the game turns in to a button mashing competition. EA needs to make that an online option( button or analog).....But FN2 was great that first night I got it.....sososo sad...

Well there goes my hunger to want to play online lol or against any humans for that matter. Every human i ever played against on last year's game were button mashers. then they would be like haha i beat you at your own game. I have no defense for that.

you guys cant expect everybody to use the analog....EVERYBODY doesnt like using the analog people....its a preference thing...i dont use it myself because i just dont like moving a analog to punch....it just happens that the buttons are faster. It would ruin sells if they completely went to analog punching....because everybody just simply dont like it. If u cant compete...learn to use the buttons. If not..stick to analog and fight people who use the analog. U cant force feed people a change like that..thats the reason why they give you the OPTION to use either one. Far as im concerned....2 people playing with the buttons.....2 GOOD people that is....makes for a nice realistic fight either way it goes. 2 people using analog makes a good fight aswell.....but please dont go on all the boards complainin about this....because ea does read these boards....next year they could just completely throw out button punching..then you'll have a whole new herd of people complaining about not having the option

Face it...it is not possible to have analog punching and button punching the same speed....its not possible unless they make the reaction time very slow on button punches....which would be simply stupid. Its a fact that moving a analog half circles and such is NOT fast as pressing a button....

Boxing in Fight Night with the buttons does not make the game less strategic. I have fought plenty of people who used buttons and in no way did it make the game play worse nor better. If someone uses buttons, just use them back. What is the big deal?

I must agree that the online is just useless for analog users because of the sluggish controls online that makes it hard to do your combos online like I can offline. I mean offline the responses are instantaneous but online it's off which put me at a major disadvantage using the analog stick. Is anyone else experiencing the sluggish controls online or is it just me? All online games play slower online but with boxing that split second is the difference between hit or be hit.

I can't understand the "pro stick" gamers who tout the intuitiveness of stick play, yet concede the buttons are more responsive when dealt a loss. I've always believed that the stick simply slows down the offense. They should have an online "stick only" option, to make everbody happy.
