Would love them to address the gameplay issues, like the inability to chase down or even walk towards a stunned opponent....some of those fixes and more boxers would be great... career, I found I had to lose about 13 times before I started winning consistently and moving up in length and challenge.

Re: Undisputed impression
This right here. I'm 57 and I'm also really enjoying this game for what it is, I'm pretty much exclusively an offline player, & I'm really enjoying career mode and also creating dream matchups going up against the AI, I'm also very thankful to have a boxing game.
Hey buddy...almost same age as you...born in "68
How can you compare this to fight night? Im just looking for some good ol' boxing gameAlthough the price is kinda steep for me...but if its worth it then I'll buy...otherwise ill wait for thanksgiving/christmas sales.

Re: Undisputed impression
The patch today made blocking way too good in the game now. Also they nerfed the hell out of hooks and straights. The stamina hit is insane now if you throw more then 3 hooks in a row. They also severely increased the stamina hit for power shots too. So now more then ever you really have to rely on your jab because that is the only thing that didn't receive a stamina hit.
Stamina is still unbalanced between the USER and CPU though. Also noticed counters are way more powerful now. Hit detection is still very much problematic however.Comment

I so badly want this game to be a success. Every time I get the urge to buy it I come here to see what’s up and I keep backing out."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

I personally think the game plays fantastically well!
There are some things that will need addressing, but overall this game plays a very nice sim style boxing game.
Find a league like TrueSim Boxing League and you are good to go!Comment

PLEASE FIX THE QUICKSAND I AM IN WHEN I STUN AN OPPONENT!!!!!
It Literally kills the experience as one can rarely "Put away" a challenger when they are hurt....
If you can fix this one aspect, the rest is tolerable..almostComment

Re: Undisputed Deluxe WBC Edition Launches Today - Post Your Impressions
I picked it up today on the PSN Black Friday Sale.
Initial quick impressions are very positive.
First of all…..we have a boxing game again. So good to finally have one after a long long wait.
Punching feels snappy and good. Graphics are damn good. Stamina and strategy are absolutely in this game and you actually have to box!! It’s not a spam fest.
I am going to stick to intermediate/simulation on quick matches to test all the different fighters etc and stream some classic matchups this evening.
I am really looking forward to getting a lot more classic boxers via DLC and hopefully boxer share will unlock on the PS5 in a future update and the ability to create classic boxers with proper ratings.
Overall though this feels like a solid effort thus far as I know more support is coming.
Also career mode is pretty damn good. Now Playing on PS5:

This game is amazing, but, still a few issues to fine tune. But some of the complaints about punch tracking, stamina and ghost punches are all something that you can control.
The best way is to make sure you are hardwired first off and then play the game through SharePlay or Parsec. You will not have any lag and that eliminates the ghost punching. Punch tracking issues come down to footwork. You have to be aware of where your feet are in relation to your opponent when letting your fists fly. Stamina… take your time and pick your spots, ease off on the power shots and you will be fine.
I hope to see some of you in the ring at some pointComment

Don't get this confused with the "slip" mechanic, which DOES allow for you to evade punches but is extremely unintuitive to pull off. Not sure why they would separate the "slip" and "weave", that was a very bizarre decision. They're the EXACT same thing, however, one works and one doesn't do anything at all. Oddly, the one that isn't intuitive or really make sense to try and pull off during the heat of a fight is the one that works, and the normal "weave" which is very intuitive (already proven in previous combat sports titles) and smooth to pull off in the heat of it all, doesn't do anything. The "weave" is supposed to be effective and produce the results that you get from the "slip" but it does not because the punch tracking for some reason is locked on to you when trying to weave (hold LT weave).
Think of Fight Night Champion, remember how you could move the left stick left/right with the left trigger and actively slip punches? Thats what we're getting at. The inability to use the stick and sway out of the way of punches completely renders inside fighting obsolete because there's really no way to stay in front of your opponent and successfully NOT get hit without an effective weave mechanic.
Another visual I can provide, is think of how classic Mike Tyson used to close distance (moving his head left and right while approaching). You could effectively do this intuitively with timing/stick skills (or something similar) in every combat sports game made for the most part, it was pretty much made a staple early on in the Fight Night series but for some reason, it was implemented, but doesn't work in Undisputed.
Hope that made sense.Last edited by kingsofthevalley; 11-24-2024, 01:19 PM.Comment

Absolutely, I’m fully aware of the story of the clinch, why it was removed and that it will make a return. However, as far as the weave being addressed, I’ve never heard the devs even “off hand” acknowledge that it was ever a problem. That’s what worries me. Also, I haven’t even heard about it in various comment sections (which is odd as well).Comment
