Re: How's your UFC career going?

So I just completed another career and can confirm that the career damage is basically a steaming pile of doodoo. Played ultra defensive in this career, usually averaging single digit significant strikes to my player (my lowest was 1, highest 16). Career damage seemed correct for the amount of damage I was taking (very little) up to maybe 75% of the career, after that, it became obviously inflated. One of the later matches, I received 4 significant strikes... and it filled up 7 boxes of career damage.

I'm in the middle of my heavyweight career and after several title defenses my guy is all of a sudden a light heavy.

I don't have an issue with it, but there was no warning or mention of me being a champion dropping down in weight. Also, the main even was 3 rounds.

      Just killed my immersion.

Next fight, I'm back at heavy defending my title.

It may have been a glitch, at heavy defending the title last 3 fights.

You have to buy the moves. When you upgrade your attributes there is a separate moves screen, go there.
In an update on my career I became the Light Heavyweight champion when I KO'd Glover Texieria. It was a hell of a fight.

Re: How's your UFC career going?

I just wrapped up my career with a 31-8 record. I lost most of those early on when my stats weren't that great. When I won the belt from Robbie Lawler, Rory MacDonald beat me in the very next fight. I avenged that loss to him, though, and retired the champ.

I fought Pascal Krauss three times and beat him each time. I thought being matched up against him that many times was kind of crazy. For a five fight stretch it was Krauss, BJ Penn, Krauss, BJ Penn, Krauss, lol.

The end of the career seemed kind of lackluster. You get a bunch of videos congratulating you for making the HOF and then that's it. I don't know exactly what I expected, maybe credits rolling or something to make me feel like finishing the career was an accomplishment. Since I retired as the champ, it also would've been nice to know what happened to the belt. I'm probably asking for too much, though.

Regardless, that was decent for what it was. Back to random fights against the CPU and online matches.

So you only fought 39 matches? I did some experimenting - recently completed my 3rd career (first easy or whichever is below normal, then hard, then normal) with lightweight, middleweight, then light heavyweight.

The first career I played like I was pumped up on every drug under the sun, swinging all over the place, but the career damage made me raise my eyebrows - it didn't seem to tally with the number of significant strikes I received. The second career, I decided to play a little defensive, but because I was playing hard mode, I think I ended up getting hit just as much as I did in the first career, still the career damage and significant strikes didn't seem to make sense especially toward the 2nd half of the career. Finally, on my 3rd career, where I played on normal difficulty, I played ultra defensive, focusing on defense and counters over offense (having experience of the earlier 2 careers and being more used to the controls helped as well). This time, I can confirm 100% that career damage seems to be a preset amount each match past the 50% career damage mark. In my 3rd last match, I received 1 significant strike - but it filled 4 bars of my career damage. In my 2nd last match, I received 0 significant strikes, but it filled 2 bars of my career damage.

In all 3 of my careers, I finished at 40 matches. Basically, from what I can see, you finish your career at 40 matches regardless of how you play (or how many times you get beat down completely). I'm going to give heavyweight a shot on normal now, and go ultra defensive again, taking screenshots along the way just to make sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me.

Did/has anyone keep running into the same guys in your title defense fights? I'm playing on Light Heavyweight, took the belt from Gegard Mousassi and in my 9 title defense fights, 4 have been against....Mousassi. Sick of seeing this guy already, I keep beating the living daylights out of him and Dana still keeps giving him fights!

Other than that, I'm having quite the good time with this Career Mode. EA definitely needs to fix Career damage, though.

If you wanna talk career mode this one is really bare bones. I like the premise but there could be more there to make the career mode feel "alive" if you will. The sponsors are there just for cosmetic purposes, you are kinda forced to be 100 overall unless you set rules for yourself, the customization options are very very limited. But I do find it fun despite all that.

I'm wondering is it just me, or does the CPU seem to be able to parry and block all of your strikes on pro?
