Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
You can hold me to this.
I don't think there's any kick animation you'll see in the game in UFC3 that'll look bad to you. That's one area I was very very very pleased with.
Edit:
I remember one particular kick that was ATROCIOUS in UFC2..... It's been redone and it's gorgeous. Kenetic and I cheesed a bit about it at the event.Comment

I dont ever think we will see a Pride mode again. Its crazy expensive to license the fighters, time consuming to create the mode and casual fans really dont know or care about Pride.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
I really liked watching PRIDE back in the day and still watch it now once in a while, so as a fan it was awesome when UD3 put it in the game. The mode was really fun to play. But yh I definitely agree with you.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
That in itself must of been alot to do because each rulesets changed certain strikes that are or aren't allowed such as:
-Ground Elbows
-Ground Kicks
-Ground Knees.
I don't see the UFC allowing other representation of MMA besides the UFC to be allowed in the game, but it would be awesome if they did so we could have a background like other MMA fighters who did fight with different rulesets in minor MMA Leagues. That's part of what made EA MMA's career special. Yeah we have WFA now I'm glad we do, but it's still same unified rules as UFC.
It would be crazy if they used the new game modes for only submission battles, and stand and bang as a means to represent career mode ju jitsu tournaments, boxing, muay thai and kickboxing leagues.
To be able to use those modes in career and then give our CAF the proper attire would be awesome, some UFC fighters came into the UFC as ex kickboxing champs, etc etc. No MMA game has done anything like this that I know of. That would give EA a reason to allow us to fight in other places besides an octagon as well.Comment

It would be alot for the devs to do and would be expensive that's true but just imagining EA'S version of Pride with EA UFC 3 mechanics and graphics would be awesome. EA MMA didn't even have pride fc, instead it had 4 different rulesets, Unified, Japanese, Vale Tudo, & Strike Force.

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
I bet the WFA arena is only Career exclusive as well. UFC Undisputed didn't allow WFA outside of career mode.
EA MMA had the most unique venues because each venue was able to be modified between fighting in a circle cage, a ring, or hexagonal cage. EA MMA also had unique training locations as well.
I would be happy to fight in UFC 200's arena just because it had different color mats.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
If it’s been reworked, then draws should be included. If judging is based off real life scoring and the new rules... we should see some 10/8 rounds and draws.
Otherwise, what happens if one guy completely dominates the first round, lets say 2 drops, almost a finish, and top control. Then the opponent comes back and wins round 2-3 with a clear 10/9 score. Thats 28/28 on all cards. If draws arent included, or there are no 10/8 rounds, then all you need is to win 2/3 rounds regardless of how bad the remaining rounds were?
To me that seems dumb and draws would be quite welcome. I’ve also had fights I destroyed the other guy in UFC 2 and scores were like 30/25 or 50-44/43... so 10/8 should already be in the game unless it just spews random numbers for the winner
The closest thing to a draw that's allowed to happen in UFC 1 & 2 is a majority decision with one judge tied and two voting for the same corner.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
So due to the time and work it’d take.. its safe to assume we’ll never see draws included in the game? Even tho the new rules give a higher chance of them happening IRL with the more 10-8 rounds. In game, we’ll have to accept a possible loss that would of been a draw.
I do get that in game, they would possibly happen more often, but would still be nice to see. Same with doctor stoppages and such but making it so they are rare would be time consuming and costly yaComment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
Judging has been tuned to not weigh things in such high favor over others tho yes? I have lost fights where I had the only knockdown, putlanded them by 50-70 more total strikes and secured more takedowns and top control. But I counter fight mosstly so walk backwards and they threw up a few subs which didnt even get pass 1 gate, and Id lose the fight when looking at the stats for each round, I won in every category.. I feel like octagon control was ranked far too highLast edited by HereticGabriel; 11-07-2017, 01:47 PM.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
This will never get through to the whole community, but hopefully at least one person understands more every time I post this:
The post-fight stats are not necessarily tied to judge scoring. They are supposed to be a presentation element mirroring what is shown on real fight broadcasts. Nowhere in the game/forums does it say that the post-fight stat screen is what the fight was judged on. Just as real judges have their own notes and hidden data, we have tons of data on each fight that is not directly exposed to users and much of it is used for scoring.
A large reason why we don't expose more of the exact logic and data used by the judges is so that users cannot game the system. We don't want people intentionally fighting in such a way as to be un-realistic or un-fair, but somehow get the win.
Often times you are not aware of the things that happened for/against you in the fight.Comment
