Especially have to be careful these days after bb nuked their trade in program.

There used to be no risk buying games day one as the trades in were $44. Now, trades are pretty much $27ish so it’s just worth it unless you are positive you will get value out of it.

Re: how many ppl bought the game this year?

I can't even convince others to buy it, and I've contemplated returning it myself.

All the issues around the game, especially online have turned off even the friends that played UFC 2 with me on a hardcore level. I'm talking homies with hundreds of hours in that game, won't even touch this one when we're on the same couch because they see the frustration and lack of enjoyment when I play.

That perception is spreading. People I know that are gamers and not MMA fans have heard how broken parts of it are. If they're hearing about this, it's not coming from an MMA circle or an MMA gaming circle, that's coming from some general gaming sphere and that's not good for the game's future.

Wolf tickets. Paid for the $90 copy mostly because the way career mode looked in the trailer. There are no actual weigh ins or press conferences (Just short 3 second videos of your character at the weigh ins or press conferences as part of a video package), and so many things that logically don't make any sense. Very disappointed

I think this was the most egregious mis-selling of a game mode I think I've ever seen.

We need a legit scripted story mode for the next title. Something with substance. I dont want to play a mode that pretends to give you free choice but is actually scripted.

With the rest of the game being the way it is, the lack of attention paid to the grappling engine, I'd just rather see them go without this mode entirely in favor of focusing on the core gameplay.

The **** does it matter if you can go through all these cutscenes and whatnot if the actual fights aren't enjoyable to play? I've gone through career three times now, twice undefeated and I can't even bother to start a legendary run because I was bored with those other runs before I even ended them. You end up 100 OVR fighting other 100 OVR guys and it just feels ridiculous by then. The AI is either overly aggressive or overly passive, both equally easy to abuse and it's hard to resist doing so when they're just falling right into it. I've been fighting most of the opponents the exact same way and having the exact same amount of success, now that I've gotten the controls and mechanics down pat. The rivalry system sucks and kills replayability. Feels like a huge waste of everyone's time, devs, players, all of us. Window dressing, felt cool for the first hour or so but once you get past the initial "oh whoa that's cool." you realize that not much has actually changed at all.

Maybe if they didn't spend so much time working on a mode that most people are done with the first week, there wouldn't be so many glaring issues with the core gameplay. Even if 90% or whatever their survey said of the player base plays career mode, they all probably play it once, maybe twice. Three+ times is probably reserved for hardcores like me. If you're not gonna make the mode with enough depth to warrant more than one tepid playthrough, don't even do it IMO.

The misleading promo's for the career mode, oh my.. I don't want to believe it, but I'm starting to think they made career mode bad on purpose to drive people to UT. I can't imagine that the guys at the EA office tested this career mode and where like, 'Yeah people are gonna like this.'.

Then they shot themselves in both feet cause UT is a gigantic waste of time just to deal with shoddy AI that doesn't make itself vulnerable or engage at all in some cases. All in the hopes you can get a card to use the same elbow you can use in fight now, but this time it's on YOUR Tony Ferguson.

Played alot of UT last game. Can't even bother with it now as the whole thing is unnecessarily complex and the AI in that mode makes the game unenjoyable.

They got you like they got me lol career mode is a joke and the trailer was very misleading. The removal of finish the fight was a terrible idea and the input lag makes this game almost unplayable I will not be buying anymore ufc games unless its made by a different developer like 2k sports because ea lied to me 1 too many times!

Yeah I'm quietly hoping for Bellator 2K19 or something . But seriously, I don't even like basketball and the MyPlayer mode on 2K16 (i think) got me hooked for hours.

yes I'm not a huge basketball fan either I bought that game simply to play through the my player career!! My impression was this ufc was gonna be similar but it wasn't even close. That disappointment mixed with a bunch of other issues makes this game really not worth the money or time I already played through career mode and I have absolutely no reason to do it again!!

Re: how many ppl bought the game this year?

I contemplated buying EA UFC 3, but since the last 2 games left me really dissapointed, I decided to wait out the reviews of the game. Then news of the beta got out and I couldn't wait to try it out. I liked it, but there would be much more improvements to the game if I was going to buy it. Later when I saw the new roster and no improvements to the amount of CAF Slots, I really knew I was not going to buy EA UFC 3. Just too little too late at this point. IMO this game would be great as the first game, but everybody said in the beginning, let's wait until EA has made their third game. Well I guess we're still waiting...

I like the new striking system and included tournament mode, but I can't help myself feel dissapointed at the game overall. Maybe I will buy it when it's on sale but I am curious to what fighters get added and improvements to the game will be made. Heavyweight, light heavyweight and Bantamweght look a little shallow. Could be adjusted with added some of the retired/suspended fighters like Josh Barnett(!), Patt Barry, Gabriel Gonzaga and Brad Pickett.

While if your on PS4 you have to buy the game and get better at it because there’s no 10 hour free trail and your not really gunna buy it then just return it and lose $60.
This is a really narrow (maybe selfish?) perspective, imo. Ten hours is plenty of time to get a feel for a game. If I'm still not sure to buy a game after ten hours, the game just ain't for me. If it takes more than ten hours to learn the game again, it's not for me. Not sure you can fault people for test driving before they buy.

This game is getting ripped to shreds, man. I've seen a lot of you say that post release support usually brings the game where it should be, at least in the last two iterations.

It’s getting ripped to shreds by the reactionary casual player base, which is exactly who the game needs to appeal to. You see these guys that were never around pre release and then come out of the woodwork to **** on the game now. That’s the problem with MMA as a sport and a game. It’s always going to be too nuanced for casual audiences to really get into it. Most people see the face value of two dudes punching each other and stop there.

Of course there is a margin of people who just don’t like it and love MMA. I believe they are few and far between though.

I just hope this game does terrible. Ea drops the license and a different studio can pick up the license and make it the game we all deserve. EA is just not competent. The EA UFC series are the worst sports videogames ever created. Just compare ea ufc to undisputed 3. Its sad to see a game that is 8 years old easily beat a game that is brand new in every aspect of MMA.
