I'm think of the position DJ likes to get armbar from. I think Reis was like that, maybe Horiguchi as well.Comment

You can't get an armbar from good quarter guard because you can't spin, although you can pass in like half a second then spin to spiderweb (armbar position)**** off, Nugget7211 - GPD, 2017 & 2018

I assume we're never going to get the ridiculously named 10th planet stuff like electric chair sweeps and the truck and stoner control and the vaporiser?**** off, Nugget7211 - GPD, 2017 & 2018

Like in this video or are you talking about a different kind of quarter guard?

Like I said, naming in BJJ is all over the place depending on the gym.Comment

Yeah and quarter guard is one of the really tricky ones. Has different meanings in Machado, 10th planet and no gi jiu jitsu. I think I get what you are saying, like a half escaped mount in the opposite way of that video where you are more than half in instead of more than half out from the bottom.Comment

Like a two phase escape to half guard.
And you could have a reversal on any pass to mount that hooked the ankle and went to quarter guard instead.
Would add a lot to balance, but doesn't sound as exciting as seated cage which everyone seems to want.Comment

Yeah, would give the option of a really fast transition out of sub mount that still left you in big danger.
