I don't know anything bout these start up frames but it sounds like there adding to the problem?

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
For some strikes there's more, for some there's less.
I'm pretty sure the jab in UFC 3 is faster.Comment

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
If I lower the frames at flyW, the game starts to look really bad.
If I lower the frames at HW, the HW fighters start to feel faster and lose any difference to the other weight classes.Comment

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
Yes my feeling exactly. I would also guess that these so called startup frames increase dramatically as you move up in weight class or fighter height (like when in ultimate team you are forced to fight with a max height and weight CAF)

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
I think people might be confusing input lag with the poor combo system.
Why aren't my strikes coming out fast? OH! It's because i never did the predefined combo that makes my strikes artificially faster.
Gotcha!PSNID: B_A_N_EComment

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
That's an issue but it's a different issue than what I and others on here have described. I believe a few on this thread are referring to that too. That's silly as can be but not the issue I'm seeing.ilovejiujitsuComment

The overall speed of the strikes are fast enough to divert my attention from the start up. Maybe since the strikes come faster and the head movement is faster everything feels more fluid?
When I get into any weight class above light weight the effect of me out pacing the fighter on my TV screen makes me want to toss my controller into the trash can.
Just try to understand what everyone is saying here. Its all over Reddit and some on the EA forums as well. I think most people are talking about what Serengeti and myself are mentioning here. It's a gameplay mechanic. The video this guy just posted is clearly just online lag.
GPD you seemed taken back when you responded suggesting that we want hooks to connect "instantly". My brain isn't really processing the aftermath of any changes or even suggesting changes.
I'm just speaking for a large audience that feels like strikes don't really flow in this title. We can out perform the character we are watching on the screen. It all seems extremely scripted and very slow to respond to anything I do. That's just how I feel. It's the best description I can give.

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
Now that you mention it... This is exactly why HW feels really bad and the lower weight classes feel MUCH better. This is also a common opinion. The difference between playing as a SW and a HW is gigantic. Things feel much smoother in the lower weight classes.
I understand wanting the classes to have their own feel but if that feeling is incredibly slow and laggy... I think there must be a better alternative.Comment

Of course you can out perform the character on the screen.I don't notice it in light weight classes.

Which is faster, throwing strikes or pressing buttons?
Looks like we've narrowed down the problem to slower strike speeds at the higher weight classes.
But I think you'll find a lot of people who don't want to lose that.Comment

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
See I think that statistical changes could add a lot to the depth of these conversations. Now take what I say with a grain of salt because my experience is almost solely been with ultimate team. I think the way they started everyone's stats in UT this year is terrible. Now that you mention it... This is exactly why HW feels really bad and the lower weight classes feel MUCH better. This is also a common opinion. The difference between playing as a SW and a HW is gigantic. Things feel much smoother in the lower weight classes.

Anyway, I still think that if the overall stats we're tweaked behind the scenes we could still use the same face values for fighter stats to keep everyone very happy. Basically adjusting the fighter stats so that the bottom values perform more like a slightly higher value, while not increasing the highest at all.
I think there is too great of a disparity between the minimum and maximum performance values for some.of the movement and strike speed stats. So my personal theory is that if instead of adjusting all the start up frames for.tbe animations, you could do just a little minor adjustment to he start up and polish it with stat adjustments within each weight class.

Re: The Input Lag on the game...
Well at least we're getting somewhere now. I'm hoping there's a compromise so that the higher classes still feel like bigger/slower guys and keep their individuality but there isn't such a feeling of input lag. I think reducing the feeling of input lag is more important than the former though. It might be the most common complaint about the game in general.Of course you can out perform the character on the screen.
