Re: Patch spoilers!
The first patch gave everyone a ton of referee interaction animations on a TKO, and three new fighters, and a bunch of much requested hair updates, new overhand animations, probably something else.
This next patch is going to give a bunch of new blocking animations.
Both of those changes have nothing to do with high level ranked play.
More people cared about Dustin Poirier's hair than grappling depth.
What I'm saying is that at OS (and even among the gamechangers) exploits in high level ranked get a great deal of attention. Typically, the work toward fixing those exploits takes a good deal of time. Some of the changes benefit the entire community. Some only benefit the top level (same as AI changes only benefits offline players.).Comment

Re: Patch spoilers!
I feel like you could incorporate a mode online that is stand and bang ( not like the point fighting version in the game ) just regular gameplay with no takedowns to appease a big portion of online players who don’t love grappling and then also have a sim mode where grappling is much more effective and realistic and has more variety for a section of online players and for offline players ( as most of . If not all offline players are looking for that in this game ) maybe a thought for E.A. ufc 4Last edited by Falseperception; 03-15-2018, 12:36 PM.Comment

Re: Patch spoilers!
Yeah but that isnt supposed to describe this community.
This is the hardcore community, right?
The one that cares about realism above anything, right?
I'd argue that this community plus the game changers guide where this game goes as much as any other community. And the people in here arent demanding more grappling depth consistently.
there's a lot of just bleed stand and bang types.
the devs can say they couldn't add grappling depth because of all these balance patches.. but a lot of this **** could have been fixed before release with a longer beta/ more testing
I don't wanna pay 80$ for what I think is gonna be an MMA game, find out the grappling is even worse than in the last game, see the striking given all attention, grappling gets nerfed even more, then told "lol yeah but the community doesn't care"Comment

Re: Patch spoilers!
Just curiosity but with such a quick turn around does this patch consists of any fighters or is there something special to be revealed with the patch or is this patch solely focused on balance with the main spoilers already spoiled ?
Thank you.Comment

Re: Patch spoilers!
Thats not based in reality or how game development works. A longer beta wouldnt have helped because a lot of the features in the retail game were either not in the beta or not working to at the optimum level in the beta. There were always going to be glitches and balancing issues no matter how long the beta was. Its the same for every combat sports game.
The insane double legs were in the beta. the head movement spam was in the beta. neither of these were fixed when the game released. just two examples off of the top of my head.Comment

Letting a community dictate a none fantasy based game is just pandering for continued dollars.ilovejiujitsuComment

Re: Patch spoilers!
some of you guys don't understand trickle down economics...
if it the fixes and exploits can be fixed at the top 100 level, it will make the lower level player more enjoyable
failure to fix problems at a high level, will result in a trickle down effect. I can go into a quick fight play against a div 2 player and see him doing the ducking and swaying because a high level fighter beat him with it. and they wish to replicate that.
the game should be tuned perfectly or at least close to it before the devs should focus on new players or animations. you guys are crying over a body type or hair which has no effect on game play. those are easy fixes that can come much later.

Re: Patch spoilers!
there were going to be glitches and balancing issues for sure, i didn't say there would be none. but there would be far, far less.
The insane double legs were in the beta. the head movement spam was in the beta. neither of these were fixed when the game released. just two examples off of the top of my head.
Lets just compare this to other games:
Undisputed 3 didnt get a single patch. Their planned patch only addressed glitches and did nothing for balance. It had a beta and that didnt stop the balance issues or glitches.
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...d-3-patch.html
EA MMA did get patched. What it addressed was small (when compared to what this EA team does) and primarily focused on balance. Fixing stamina, grappling and striking issues. There were 5 gameplay fixes there.
https://forums.operationsports.com/n...patch-details/
The reason for posting this is to say that there should be some faith in this dev team that they will work on the game and get it to a good place before they are done patching it. Theyve done it with past games and they will do it here. Just because you dont see a fix you want at day 40....doesnt mean its not coming ot that the devs dont care.Comment
