UFC 4 Wishlist!!!

I know it’s not yet Christmas. But who knows Santa has a Gamertag.

Here’s my wishlist for the next UFC 4.

1. ULTIMATE TEAM - Remove real fighter skins in Ultimate Team. Let me fight with CAF! (CAF! CAF!) Pun intended.

2. CAREER MODE - Improve career mode with in-depth story. STORY! Engage us your customers.

3. CAREER MODE - Fights outside the Octagon!!! Train station, weekend markets, restaurants, my backyard, Great Wall in China, some beach in Thailand. Whatever. Wherever.

4. PRACTICE MODE - make it online! I’d like to spar with some guys and learn tricks without worrying about leaderboard!

5. REPLAY - 360 degrees camera replay mode.

6. CAF - Share CAF! There are a lot - tons - of creative people out there and please allow us to share our creations!

It would be amazing to have bare knuckle street fight as a game mode in online with UFC fighters.

As far as Career Mode goes - nothing scripted, nothing movie-like, nothing "Conor McGregor or Demetrious Johnson-inspired". The game itself should be neutral in its approach, not aiming to fulfull whatever scenario it has for you. UFC 3's career is scripted and gimmicky as hell. I'm sure I don't even have to sit here and explain what would make a player thrive and go back for more and more in a career mode. It would be great if rivalries occur naturally, if fights can't happen for whatever reason, if people duck other people, which could be beneficial in some ways and detrimental in others, switching weight-classes at will, being offered fights that match your performances (or hype through trash talk), maybe even pitch your own idea for a fight/ call people out with Dana agreeing/disagreeing ... and many other things, of course...oh, right, and actual interactions with other fighters and even Dana White - half the trailer featured face-offs, talk about false advertisement - and all of these presented in a way different than a sort of cheesy episode of a TV series kind of way by the Deus Ex-Machina, EA UFC 3 itself. I'm aware that a truly great and detailed career mode takes effort and resources but, if you really want to make it good - here are some cues. Freedom, variety and realism are key to for a good career mode.

1) Larger Roster
2) Universe mode
3) Revamped clinch game. I don't have good solutions myself, but it just feels so clunky.
4) Revamped ground game, same as the clinch.
5) More sliders, particularly AI aggression
6) Rocks much less frequent, but truly dangerous when it happens

I'll just use this post to support one idea. I've mentioned this a lot, but its been a while now...but a career mode based around running an entire camp would be ideal for an mma game.

In training camp mode you'd control all the fighters you put into your camp and can bring in CAFs & roster fighters. You build up the camp with coaches & trainers that effect your fighters training and when a fighter retires, they can become coaches & trainers.

If it can have 8-12 controllable fighters per camp, real roster fighters will be able to stay active a lot longer than in single player career since you'll have a lot more fights per year controlling all your fighters.

Fighter's ratings could improve while they are younger and older fighters hitting their late 30s would typically see a decrease in ratings like their speed & chin. Retire whenever, but when ratings start to drop you risk losing more of often course.

A full camp mode could add so much to this game and can realistically keep roster fighters active for a long time.

- Bring back the awesome KO physics we had in UFC 2.

- Include more TKO animations, this includes standing TKO's.

- Remove hard combos and only include specific signature combinations for each fighter. This will fix the awful idea of inputting combinations and the wonky and awkward feeling striking mechanics.

- Fix the phone booth fighting, fix movement and footwork, fix the head movement because currently it's far from realistic.

- Make Ultimate Team similar to UFC 2. This means CAF's only, no real fighter skins. No limited movesets either.

-completely revamped grappling system

-completely revamped practice mode. The recording feature is currently a little awkward and I don't feel like it works properly. You could also be able to record more than one string of actions for the ai to randomly choose between.

-related to the practice mode, would be really cool to have a combo practice mode where you can make a short list of combinations that an ai holding thai pads will randomly call out for you to throw. A more advanced version of this could be: after you finish your combo, the ai will slap you with the pad so you have to do some defensive action. This could happen twice in a row quickly so you would have: combo-defense-combo-defense

-of course an online practice mode would be really nice.

-more signature combinations of fighters (instead of just signature strikes)
