Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
Turn based is so much more fun and fluid, UD3 proved it!
Good Poll. -
Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
They wont change the entire ground game on a released game because of a poll guys wake up...
It would highly impress me if they did though. A mix of both should be possible... But this is something for UFC 4.Comment

Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
Neither. Fluid grappling needs to happen. They need to step back and not think of grappling in terms of mini games. Think of ways to make it free flowing and always moving. Let us control our limbs and freely move them into position. Make every movement require real time counter movement and adjustments. Let me roll my foot into my opponents hip and slide into an armbar or triangle attempt while my opponent has to decide to move his arm inside or outside my leg depending which sub he defends.
I dont know if that makes sense but I would really like to see an entirely new approach to grappling. It shouldnt be the boring part of the game, it should be just as engaging and intense as standup.Comment

Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
Poll needs a neither and both option.
It's too vauge to accurately represent anything.
As people have said, fluid grappling and a system incorporating the best elements of both, not just pick A or B.Comment

With that said, 1 of my biggest issue with EA UFC's 2/3 grappling, is not just the way it feels because it's taking away control of the player, but also because it isn't much of a skill designed aspect of the game.
Once you figure out the mechanics, it's about patience and timing a predictable, yet unable to react to, long-lasting transition.
All in all, you have stats determining wether someone will dominate the ground game and in contrast, when you are on the stand-up department, regardless if you have a highly skilled striker or not, you still have to work and grind hard to dominate the stand-up game. Ground game, stats does the job of the player, players are mostly inputting commands and they watch as their fighter grapples and plays out long animations on their own, without breaking a sweat.
With EA UFC's 3 I see that flaw starting to make it's way on the Stand-Up as well and we are slowly losing control over our fighters and the game feels as if it's headed more towards inputting a command that your fighter will follow and play a long lasting pre-deterministic animation that will get the work done on it's own, giving you little to no control over the outcome in the meantime that long animation plays out.Last edited by manliest_Man; 05-10-2018, 01:29 AM.Comment

Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
I disagree that we need an option for something else in this poll.
I think it’s down to one other proven system, UD3. Other ideas
like super realistic grappling are great, but unless there is a Madden sized team (which there never will be for this) then we should go with the most realistic, and by far the best option.Comment

Re: turn based or ea ufc grappling poll
What ever you do please don't scrap the entire grappling system
We just need more focus on momentum instead of stamina and more depth overall.
I think a lot of people love UFC's mainly because of it's depth.Comment
