          Id argue the devs are trying to replicate real life, so use rl knowledge as a backing of how to play. Frame data is hust how its put into the game.

                                Do you mean the straight as a counter to the upper, or making the straight side vulnerability behave like how you want the upper's to behave (both being most vulnerable to a lead hook, during their exection)?
