FW has become the Zabit division, makes me feel better about using Conor and Aldo now though.

Mendes can eff off until we get a proper clinch.

You still haven't utilized the undeniable TDs with Mendes? I love using him now that he got a decent buff. Why his health stats are meh I don't understand.

I honestly prefer fighting Conor than Zabit. At least Conor players tend to play from a similar template, and you can grapple f*** him even with Aldo, so it's all good. One thing though, Zabits leg health ain't all that, so breaking them legs work well.

No, I kinda gave up on wrestlers after the clinch slowdown patch, it eliminates a huge part of grappler's game. With the exception for a small few that have good striking stats (gsp, cormier). Mendes is just too chinny and too small, if he gets pressured you're kinda done for. He's still good but feels like a B+.

and yeah I can tell you dont like zabit after martial's last video lol. I honestly suck with Zabit so I rarely use him.

I don't think it matters too much how low quality you might think his opponent was tonight, but what he did is why he has good ground stats. That was crazy. But I do not like that rarely deniable takedown he has in the game, kinda ridiculous.

Yh the td does seem kinda OP. But the Zabit train is still rolling on. Sadly it wasn't Yair, but Zabit continues to show how well rounded a fighter he is. He can do it all.

                  Re: Lets talk Zabhit

After using Zabit I now love the challenge of beating him with my FW main stay Frankie Edgar. Zabit has 2 weakness. 1. He isn’t crazy powerful. 2. His funky moves take lots of stamina.

Try to make him whiff then attack the body at range. When in go in and out mix head and body attacks.

After wearing him down standing take him to the floor and work the body more.

The funky takedown is just a clinch denial. Most people don’t know this so most Zabit users don’t set this up

Late in the fight they are tired and can be overwhelmed by Frankie’s pressure

He is legit. He wisely is calling out Mendes because that is a big name who matches up horribly against him.

One thing I did notice was that the low leg kick was effecting him. He was switching stances or gave the illusion he was switching stances to mitigate it but they were working. I worry about him against Stephens or Aldo. I think he # 4 in the division Aldo, Edgar, Stephens and maybe Moicano would present real problems. I actually think he would eat up Max and Ortega up for breakfast

Edgar and Zabits train together here at Catone's in NJ. They're not fighting each other.

Mendes would definitely be a good fight for him.

I forgot about that. Dude trains with Marlon Moraes, Edgar, barboza and Alvarez with Mark Henry as the coach. He is perfectly positioned for greatness.

Interesting thing happens when I see him fight that he might want to change. Same thing happens in game with him. He has so many paths to victory he is slow at choosing one. I wonder what would happen if he came out with aggressively implementing a particular game plan and then switched off when something else presented itself.

It’s too bad Israel already has the name, but style bender is way more appropriate for Zabit

You think Aldo, Edgar, Stephens and Moicano would cause him problems but he easily beats Max and Ortega!?

You realise between them Max and Ortega have beat all 4 of those fighters right? Max and Ortega are head and shoulders above the competition at FW right now.

I Lol'd when I saw that. Edgar withstanding since they're teammates, match ups make fights.

I think Zabit would school Stephens, I'm pretty sure he can beat Moicano. Moicano gave Ortega his toughest fight next to Guida (lol) and after what I saw in the Cub fight he is definitely way better now. Zabit is more than capable of beating him though.

I'm concerned about Max now due to the concussion symptoms, he took shots from Aldo in both of their fights that would have knocked out any normal featherweight, and I fear if he gets into a brawl-esque scenario, he can get in trouble. I can only wonder what would have happened if Aldo had a full camp for their second fight, because Aldo has some cojones for diving in on 2 weeks notice on a dude that beat him before. Back to Holloway though , freak ko withstanding, I'm sure he'll beat Zabit. Plenty of tools, iron chin (for now), and just as diverse on the feet, with loads of experience to boot.

Ortega would be the most interesting match up, because Zabit would be taller than Ortega, and I don't think Ortega would frustrate Zabit, his tendency to walk forward and block would benefit Zabit of course. I rewatched the Edgar - Ortega fight, where as the elbow was perfectly timed as Frankie was going in and out, he was not winning most of those exchanges up until that point, and being that Edgar trains with Zabit, PLUS Zabit is not as small as Edgar, they can employ a little bit of what they saw was working in that fight with a dash of Zabeast magic. Ortega always tends to be losing the fight up until he pulls some magic out, he's lost more rounds than he's won officially. It's a matter of time before that fails.

Against Aldo, it's a matter of frustration. If Aldo maintains composure and does not let his ego dictate his striking, he can do damage to Zabit. The only bit of success Brandon Davis had against Zabit was the leg kicks, Zabit was disguising it well with the stance switching, but it was effective. In that second fight against Holloway, Aldo had shown improved Head Movement, and with Stephens he did great things in terms of shifting, going for that sweep of the leg to straight right (which was absolutely high level) and the oomph of his leg kick was way more than what Stephens did when he said he could out leg kick Aldo. (lmao)

If Zabit were to fight Aldo, the likely scenario for him to win would be to drop him off of a counter and capitalize and submit him. And I've been watching Aldo for years, so I'm aware of what he loves to do and what can cost him. For Aldo, both his lead overhand and rear overhand after cutting an angle would pay off dividends, along with the classic dutchie combo (lead body hook + leg kick) he's known for.
I'd lean 65-35 towards Aldo if they fought.

Mendes has to close distance, pressure, not get caught. Opposite McGregor he was landing some good counters off of Conor's vaunted left, but struggled against the body kicks. Didn't help that he took that fight on 10 days notice as well. He looked good in the Myles Jury fight in terms of patience and being just out of range so Jury couldn't hit him, and exploded at the right time. I would love for Mendes to end the Zabit hype train.

We can only wait and see.
