    Why HAPTIC FEEDBACK is NOT a cheat, is realistic, needed for all + How to evolve it

    First of all, i respect other players - and never used cheats.
    I respect forum rules - and never wanted to teach how to cheat and use exploits.
    Now, i am not talking about how to use Haptic feedback.
    I am talking about 1) Why this is not a cheat now 2) Why it must be available for all by default 3) Why HF is realistic 4) Why HF is important balancing gameplay tool in EA UFC and 5) How to evolve it for more IRL SIM gameplay.

    HAPTIC FEEDBACK (HF) - shows you the level of the incoming strike/GM by vibration - High or Low AFTER the move starts.


    1) Why Haptic feedback is NOT a cheat:
    CHEAT - is using not standard not mentioned by devs method of the gameplay.

    Some thoughts that HF is a support tool to visually impaired people to feel better the strike level. Then, HOW they could play grappling game, transition meter, determine position, and etc which are much more harder to see than the level of incoming strike?!
    Resume: they can not! HF helps them to play on the easiest level of the game, while other levels of the game does not provide them ANY support.
    So, HF for visually impaired people is USELESS.

    HF is available for ALL, and available OFFICIALLY. This is the same as we have Aim assist option in all shooters. Is it a cheat for using it? No.

    HF is not a cheat also b/c is does NOT give the player a critical advantage:
    - TEST 1: go to Practice and test it by yourself, record Dummy a Combo w mix-up levels and try to res level only by Vibration > then try to react on his incoming strike ONLY by Vibration.
    Resume: You will see that 1. HF does NOT grant 100% clear Strike level by Vibration, b/c it is jamming by another vibration (received hit, landed strike, etc) and Vibration is irradiating the entire gamepad.
    2. Some strikes (like Kicks) has different Vibration pattern which is in closer to the middle of the gamepad - harder to read level (left or right).

    So, HF gives ONLY a max 50% of FEELING of the Strike level, NOT 100% and it is hard to use during intense fight.



    2) Why HF must to be available by DEFAULT to ALL:

    This is an option (OFF by default as i remember?), opened to everyone. Someone used this, some one not.

    This brings the difference between players, so for more cybersport it must to be used by the most online players.



    3) Why HF is REALISTIC:

    UFC is a fight between PRO fighters, not novices.
    Pro fighters can READ the opponent and catch TELEGRAPHING of his moves.
    Read by:
    - his initial shoulder / feet move or position
    - his eyes movement
    - his mimics
    - his breath
    - etc
    So many minor factors are telegraphing about time and level of his attack.
    BUT
    We have NOT them in the game (no micro animations, no eye catching, no breath signals, etc), b/c game gives us much MORE RESTRICTED infos/telegraphing than PRO fighters gets in REAL life fights.

    Btw, even now different strikes has DIFFERENT CLARITY of their level and properties via HF!

    So, HF is a cumulative signal of all these micro factors and is realistic.



    4) Why HF is an important BALANCING gameplay tool:

    1. Look on all others arcade figthings. The most important element in them is MIX-UP - changing strike level to hit opened body part of the opponent.

    Why Mix-ups are balanced there? b/c they have this mix-up mainly in Combos, which are hard coded and you (after learning the match up) KNOW when and which Mix-up can be, = so you are ready and have prepared counters.
    In EA UFC 3 exists many fast Mix-ups in Combos available to all fighters which allows to mix-up quickly and ANY time, = so you do NOT KNOW when and which Mix-up can be here = you are forced to counter them the mostly ON REACTION, which is impossible, so MORE RANDOM.

    HF will decrease a bit this randomness, and will bring more clarity IF you are fast enough, attentive enough, and has not others jamming vibration factors.

    2. PS4 Pro has 60fps, PS Standard has 30 fps. What does it mean? it means that 30fps user will see twice less frames of animation of incoming strike and it will be twice harder to him to read this strike level and type = twice harder to play against 60fps player.

    This 60fps is must more "cheating" than HF, and this "cheating" is officially allowed.
    In ALL fighting games including EA UFC 60fps must to be a STANDARD for all players even in costs of weaker graphics/resolution.

    5) How to EVOLVE HF to bring more IRL SIM elements to the game:

    1. Make every strike and move which has HF telegraphing DIFFERENT its own ORIGINAL CLARITY of this HF vibration:
    - more readable straight strike = has more readable HF (less jammed/mixed vibration between Left and Right motors).
    - less readable move= less readable HF

    2. More INDIVIDUALITY between fighters:
    - bring 2 new Fighters' stats: Readability - how effectively he can read opponent's move, Telegraphing - how better he shows his intentions and vice versa how better he can hide (not telegraphs) his moves/intentions.
    - some fighters are able to read BETTER telegraphing of the opponent's moves than others = gives them Bonus up to HF clarity
    - some fighters can HIDE their strikes better (more unpredictable techniques) = gives them bonus up to HF unclarity to the opponent vibration
    - dumbest fighter (low Readability stats) will almost has not HF tips.


    RESUME: HAPTIC FEEDBACK is not a cheat, it is realistic, it must to be for all, it must to be evolved to bring MORE real fight simulation and more individuality and more depth to the game!

    Dam, you're really on this train.

    Look, there is a significant difference between the subtle cues in combat and a vibration telling you what to expect, they are different. I think we understand where you are going, but you're being carried away in what you expect vs the reality of what happens.

    Yes, in boxing if you see a guy tense (c0ck was censored) his shoulder back you can expect a punch. That can be done in this game too, your frame to react is just slower because you need to input information to execute the reaction This is simply the reality of all fighting games and all sports games at the moment. You do not get vibrations to tell you if a fast ball or slider is coming. You do not get vibrations to let you know that your QB is about to be sacked (although some easy modes do this). It's because these features can be exploited and will be exploited.

    Richohet9 is a perfect example. He will use Nick Diaz, hold block and just stay in your face waiting for whatever the haptic feedback tells him is coming, and dodge/block it to damage your stamina. This is unfair to the offensive player who suffers not only from input delay but also now suffers from the fact that no strike of theirs comes out without a preemptive warning saying "hey, look out for this"

        Sadly, it seems some guys, do not read more than just Topic name.

        I don’t see even one real argument against:
        - the video of those who used HF have not show an advantage u r talking about.

        - I said above what is different in EA UFC VS arcade fighting games and why we need one more source of info about strike level besides only visual, read it again if u don’t understood.

        And we are not talking here about cheaters and exploits and how to use them. Here is an IDEA how to wide game info channels to make it more realistic

        - why it is realistic I answered too.

        Guys, try to read and listen , before posting the same empty (w/o explained counter arguments, just “I know it is bad, trust me”) answers over and over!

          Maybe for hit reactions as well. Like to help you “feel” that your opponent’s strikes arent hitting as hard.

              I don’t need a counter argument. It’s a fundamental difference in opinion. I think it’s cheating. I don’t need to go any further than that.
              Is having a PS4 Pro and a good tv and good wired internet cheating? Having a low ms monitor? Those things give people better reads on what’s going on and you have a advantage of a few frames vs someone without those things. Can someone buy them? Yes . Can someone turn on the HF that the creators of the game put in? Yes they can. It’s not necessary cheating just because you don’t like it. Yeah people who just stay in your face waiting just for the feedback to come only to counter it is pretty cheesy. But is it any more cheesy than any of the other things we have had to deal with? The bobble head syndrome of before. The main combo of jab upper hook. People adapt to it and the devs can tweak it. It is something that has not even been touched since being put in to my knowledge. So there is a chance HF could be a great and non “cheating” aspect in our arsenal for winning a fight. There is always going to be something in a game people are going to abuse. This could be helpful for a ton of people that don’t have the money advantage that other people have to buy better things. You guys may think it’s cheating or unfair but you have access to use it as well. You have the ability to read his counter patterns. Or to switch up your strikes. Confuse him.

                Abusing a mechanic meant for disabled people. I would love for them to totally distort the screen for people who turn this mechanic on since it is meant for DISABLED PEOPLE WHO CAN BARELY SEE. Putting it in the hands of somebody who is NOT DISABLED, and having them have the advantage of being able to telepathically tell where you're going to hit.



                My fight against the guy who started using haptic feedback Ricohet90 aka SuperSandSoldier. Mind you, only reason I was able to fight against it, is because I was familiar with fighting him MULTIPLE times on his main account, and I know the little weaknesses it has. He even told me what they were, and he had no shame about it, and says he will use it until it is removed, he KNOWS it's an unfair advantage.

                You look at that and tell me how normal it is. I didn't know that in my years of wrestling all I needed was haptic feedback and I would vibrate internally when my opponent was going to shoot. I didn't know if I turned on haptic feedback when I spar, I could easily tell where my opponent was going to hit me.

                By the way, Uni-Bot has a regular TV and he still whoops high level guys, including Advaita who has one of the best monitors around. I went seasons without a monitor besting guys who have PS4 Pros and all that.

                Jab Uppercut Hook is easy to deal with now since they fixed the bug, you can pull counter, duck uppercut it now with no worry.

                It's blatant abuse. They shut down the last thread, and will shut down this one too.

                    Lol crap that’s how I feel when playing against pro or legendary. They can evade a lot of my strikes. But like you said they patched the jab upper hook. But before it was fixed it was a nuisance. Just like this is a nuisance. And not everyone will utilize it that well. But like I’ve said I don’t think they have touched it since launch. I could be wrong and you have made good points and I understand. But you’re comparing a top 10 player like uni bot to people with average or above average skill levels. Even your self you’re a really good player and like you found a way to confuse him or make if difficult for him while he is using HF. But the main part is that HF is for visionally impared people that can’t be refuted and I wasn’t actually thinking of it being for visionally impaired people lol that kinda went over my head so i guess it should only be used if it’s actually needed if you’re visionally Impaired. Though it does help with predicting strikes because like Sugata said irl there is so much tells and stuff that you can use while fighting to predict something. So I was thinking of it more so for that. But eh my option doesn’t matter and like you said the thread is just going to get closed haha. Thank you for your reply though.

                      No prob man. But there are plenty of tells in game, humans are creatures of habit, and you can punish people plenty now if they're too predictable. The only thing that gives me trouble now are laggy fights at this point.

                      Key things I wish the game would tell you about a little bit more, is where peak vulnerability is at. If somebody does a leg kick overhand, if they miss the leg kick and you time a front kick (something I do a lot) you can get a KD or a KO since they run right into it as they throw the Overhand.

                      If somebody does a one two head kick, you can duck the head kick and fire off a mean quick hook. Somebody's spamming 1-2s, instead of the slip straight you can switch it up to do a slip straight to the body to REALLY drain their stamina, slip hook if you have heavy hooks.

                      If somebody likes to feint too much, you just have to commit on a strike as they're feinting. I've gotten caught plenty coming in with a jab feint only to get head kicked into a Head health event.

                      We all know about how fighters look now when their stamina is drained.

                      My point is, there are plenty of things to capitalize on with almost every playstyle, and the game has evolved so much.

                      If it's meant for disabled people, keep it that way. It's not right for us to be using something that isn't meant for us.

                        It should be in for local head-2-head and quickmatch, but NOT ranked. I wish it weren't so, but if it's there and can be abused by able-bodied players, it will be and is.

                        The only workaround I've found is to go absolutely ham with feints, but it's still ridiculous that this is a thing at all and that I'm in there fighting freaking Pscyho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid about 10-15% of the time in Division 5.

                        If a tool for abuse is openly available, people will abuse it, period. Devs have to make the tool unavailable or this will continue. Many players have no honor in ranked and just want the W as fast and as easy as they can get it. Haptic feedback makes kicks totally worthless. They'll all either get checked, caught, or ducked because of their relatively slower startup compared to punches, giving the haptic abuser a bigger window to process and act on the feedback.

                        The onus behind the idea of haptic feedback is noble, and I still think it should be preserved for most game modes, just not ranked where all the sweaty sociopathic try-hards live.

                          It is 100% cheating, and it should blur your screen at the very least, and shouldnt be an option on ranked.
                          The low block stops body punches, body kicks and leg kicks. I say thats powerful enough.

                            Used it briefly when I had first heard of it but turned it off soon after as I felt it was a learning curve I didn't really need.

                            Wouldn't call it cheating if it can be beaten and is an in-game function.

                              Yeah, maybe I'm out of my depth on this one, but it just seemed to vibrate every time the opponents punch frame started. just like the animation. Not really sure you'd get any advantage from that, you could just use your eyes.
