I think I’m in a similar situation as you, I’m very well versed in all aspects of this game but I can’t put in the kind of time needed to be one of the elite, what’s most important to me is that I’m having fun, what I consider fun changes on a regular basis, sometimes I enjoy quick match using c level fighters, sometimes I like intense high level competition, but what keeps me playing every day with out getting burned out are realistic fights, Smashing unskilled casual players get old quick as does having super intense competitive fights every time, these are the most common situations I find my self in, then getting burned out and playing frustrated is inevitably on its way. For me playing ranked around 1350-1475 points provides me with what I consider to be realistic fun fights and a similar skill gap. I always have a separate account that I purposely keep around those skill points to guarantee I have those type of fights to fall back on when I’m not feeling super competitive and to keep me from getting burned out. I have to dnf to keep it at that point level so I use the separate account so I don’t have to sacrifice the time I spend grinding to rank up. I don’t want to be frustrated with this game so I do what I have to do to insure I’m always having fun
