Well i would imagine this version of Johny Hendricks isn't in his late thirties because it's the legend version.

Also, I would hope Career Mode does a better job generating made up fighters that essentially come up with you and become your peers instead of requiring you to continuously knock off the old guard.

I think we've been under the impression that the roster size is a goal of this dev team because of the huge jump and emphasis they placed on it from 1-2.

But Aholbert is right. It's time to recalibrate expectations. There arent a ton of missing names here if the goal was to get surefire title contenders into the game.

The problem is that in real life there hasn't been a ton of turnover at the top. Lots of great fighters on the way up, but it appears EA is done trying to risk if they'll fizzle out by the time they make the game. You're going to basically need to be a Top 10 mainstay, getting ready to fight for the belt if you had a quick surge to the top, or simply be insanely popular to make it in.

So by my count, 221 fighters on the roster, 22 of which are new. 37 of them are either retired, in a different organization, or not an MMA fighter. The fighters they added were all good picks, but there’s still numerous missing. Roster still feels dated. 55/175 currently ranked fighters missing, nearly 1/3.

Yeah the way this role out has gone, id be surprised if you guys got 15% of these recommendations. I think the after release support is going to be more wacky CAF accessories and maybe some legends that EA thinks they can milk a couple of extra sales out of once the hype has died down and people realize this is not a deep game and stop playing

Not lazy. They really just don’t care. This game was clearly designed for people to make wacky CAF’s and make YouTube videos of them spamming the AI on easy. I have accepted that EA had no desire to craft a remotely deep MMA experience. I am fine waiting until madden comes out

I think his nationality has a lot to do with it. Limited amount of Chinese fighters they could include but the biggest potential market on Earth that now has a UFC champ.

The same amount with the female divisions, even worse considering the flyweight being the newest addition to UFC and the deepest in terms of new participants. They could just ignore adding it like the females featherweight considering the outcome. Hell even UFC 2 and 3 had deeper roster despite being outdated aswell. Now with this roster reveal even further demonstrates this game being nothing but a cash grab created by a bunch of lazy/incompetent (or both) millenial devs over at clueless EA. It's not even worth 10 bucks at sale at this point, and i highly doubt they would turn it around by few patches.

Gotta capture that Asian market. It’s the same reason why pascal krauss and denis siver have been in the game I years past despite being nowhere near the top 15. Because they were hoping it would drum up sales in Germany

It's hard to argue that statement now. 2.5 years later we get a smaller roster? We get less ability to customize? We have 12 dual weight class models just in the female division while at the same time missing fighters who were in the last game that are still on the UFC roster?!

apparently EA tried to take out legacy grappling controls and it took GC intervention for this not to happen.

EA tried to make this game even more casual than it is now
