          Not gonna lie

I was looking forward to your reaction to Big Nog and Good Grappler’s reaction to Askren the most lol.

Doing a quick once over from my universe roster:

            232 fighters
71 of them have models in 2 or more weight classes
23 new fighters (including Krylov who was in 2 but not 3)

He has some similar perks to his UFC 3 ones, but new ones for sub defense and that allow him to walk you down. His health stats are all really good now. All in the 90s I think, the highest being his chin at a 93. Simply put, prime Big Nog is back.

By my count, I have 223 fighters. Am I missing some?

Maybe...or I may have counted a couple multiple model fighters twice.

I'm really curious about those fighters with more than one model. I understood it to be that every single model counts toward the total cap they have. If thats true, there are roughly 70 slots where a new fighter could have been added (I can see champ-champs getting the royal treatment but why have a pair of Tony Fergusons when you can just use combined w/c's?) or even hook us up with caf slots!!

Yeah, EA kind of half assed this one. As someone said in another thread. I think we let our expectations get to high because of the roster growth of UFC 1 to UFC 2. I don’t think that will ever happen again. We need to adjust our expectations because I don’t think roster will ever be a priority again. To many people who buy this game are into legends and want to play as prime versions of their favorite fighters. I am sure their “data” shows that more than half of the roster goes unused in online ranked which is their priority. So they probably figure why bother.

What I am really surprised with is how much of a hit featherweight took. It used to be one of the deepest weight classes in UFC 2 and 3, but with so many of last years featherweights moving up to lightweight it has left the class almost as thin as heavyweight

What’s frustrating is knowing they can make a great roster but choose not to, opting to spend time on silly cosmetics and emotes instead. The dedicated community needs to reject this and speak with their wallet if they want any change. Unfortunately, many of us don’t want to play the same mma game for another 2 years, which would be 5 years straight and many will cave and they know that. Thus the cycle continues as they take their player base for granted while chasing consumers that probably won’t buy their game anyways.

“R&R” Roster and Ragdolls. Keep beating that drum. It actually worked for UFC 2. EA did it once, they can do it again.

That ship has sailed my friend. The roster will get buffed some through patches like it always will. I doubt Ragdoll is coming back in the way that you guys want it.

Mark my words.... UFC 4 will do over 1 million in sales, and probably another 1 million digitally. That would be considered a success for EA. The direction of this game isn’t changing unless EA wants it to. Sales are not going to drive change, because not enough people are willing to forgo their purchase of UFC 4. Just look at some of the other threads on here. A lot of people are not bothered by the “goofy” changes and not concerned with a modern roster. They just want to be able to fight with their favorite legends online, or are only concerned with fighters who are competitively viable online.

I would venture to say that not even 70% of people who play this game ever even played a single round with a jake matthews or an Alan jouban. Because they are not viable against the top 5 in their divisions online. Most online competitive players just pick the same five fighters in every division so as to not take a hit to their record or ranking. Can you blame them?

This games online competitive base is their focus and that’s where they are getting their “data”. And rightfully so. I am offline guy and went completely away from UFC 3 abo it 8 months after release. It just wasn’t the game for me. The online competitive crowd played this game for almost two years straight and kept UFC 3 alive. I am not surprised they are the focus

This isnt really true. Only 12% of players who play this game play ranked. 12%. The issue isnt the focus on comp players when it comes to the roster.

The issue is EA doesnt see the benefit in adding fighters who casual fans dont know or care about. Jake Matthews isnt used by ranked players or unranked players or most players.

Matthews matters to us. The offliners but really only a specific kind of offliner. Someone who plays only career mode isnt super concerned about Jake Matthers either.

We also have to stop with the "kept UFC 3 alive" narrative. EA isnt concerned if people are playing the game a year after the game is out. At that point the goal is to offer the game for cheap and bring in new buyers. Thats it.

They dont really care if Zombie or Kenetic or Pryoxis are playing UFC 4 in mid 2021.

Really??? Color me shocked. So according to their data what are people playing most? And since their player base is mostly offline wouldn’t it make sense for them to invest time in a deep and updated roster?
