I wonder how many other people cancelled their preorder because of the beta? Maybe that had something to do with it.
Maybe it was only intended to be a 2 day since it was mainly a stress test.
It’s promising to hear that it was scaled down and in all honestly I hope this build was a few months old.
I wonder how much covid-19/quarantine affected development? Probably a lot and I hadn’t really considered that until now....precision beats power and timing beats speed... and realism beats meta.Comment

I found how to drive takedowns towards the cage finally and there was a list of different takedowns in the move list. The only thing that was not responsive was the clinch transitions, and head movement on the grounded position wasn’t work for me unless I was doing it wrong.
After playing the game, it will be visually complete with the finish the fight improvements and ref interaction. The limp body from ground strike has to go, and follow up strike from standing KO has to be smoother. We should also allow both hands to follow up- hammerfist, hooks, straightsComment

I remember the CoD4 beta - it was like a month long and had 2 maps - I played the ship out of it. These days I keep forgetting how quick the beta's are - If I knew I wouldn't have signed up or downloaded it at all.
Beta's this short only cater to college kids or people with unlimited free time. If you have kids, jobs etc, it's really hard to get some time in. Last night I played 4 matches. For me it was not enticing enough to buy - maybe if I had more opportunity to play it, but hey - not my fault.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Right now that is the only change in terms of animation that must be done. The rest is all game mechanics and tweaks- ground elbows, clinch HUD, matching the speed for striking and grappling, submission system (allow legacy)Comment

Did anyone ever get KO'd like that in a GnP situation. It's so stupid. Why would you go with that? And then be stubborn when you are presented an alternative?
I understand going with it at first, but if then offered a better way to go about it, and STILL want to stick with it even though you barely (I'd say never, but I am probably wrong) saw it ever in any fight?
It does not give me great confidence for the future of this franchise.Comment

Exactly! What is making me more angry is they already have the animations for the change, so why not? The casual fan appeal argument is BS. My friend is a casual but if you show him this, he can tell you that’s not how fights finish in MMA and it looks dumb.
Now that the Beta is done, I hope they can read this and finally change this for day 1 patch along with some of the game mechanics issues.
That would be huge for immersion.

My guess would be that they’ve shut it down us because most people don’t seem to know how to do a lot of stuff so it seems like a waste of time trying to get feedback until they can explain it.
Although I am convinced some stuff just flat out doesn’t work. I’ve sat with 2 controllers and tried all sorts of button combinations, tapping/holding, etc and I’m not seeing a lot of stuff that you’re supposed to be able to do.Comment
