Apex Legends had zero PR and released about a day after it was announced and caught fire.

That won't happen here but I think they should've done an open beta and let us steam and we could've marketed the game

I get your criticism of UFC 3, I agree with pretty much all of what you said about it, but UFC3 was a good foundation for what I was hoping would be a an amazing MMA game at launch.

I actually think the UFC 3 beta was far far far better game IN SOME CRITICAL WAYS than the final game ended up being, even though some improvements were made. I’ve just never had more fun than I had playing the UFC 3 beta and it came closer to capturing the spirit of an actually UFC fight than any game ever.

I guess what I’m saying is that you would have to change far less about UFC 3 to make it a satisfying MMA simulation than you would have to change about UD3.

The UFC 3 beta was extremely fun for me at the time. I think reason for that was because strikes flowed very smooth and there was no slow down when they hit the block. (Hear me out.) UFC 4 has blocking while using head movement now. This is pretty huge actually. I feel that the best thing for the stand up game would be to REMOVE THE SLOW DOWN. It would flow so much better AND head movement isn't as dangerous now because we can actually BLOCK. Would combos be fast and sometimes unpredictable? Absolutely, but in real life I'm pretty sure fighters don't see every single shot coming. Would be much more realistic imo and would be an incredible and very needed change that would actually make the striking feel "different." That on top of giving us realistic deflects/parries for straight strikes, I feel that's what we're missing, sorry if this derailed the topic it's just been on my mind.

Constant danger and 1 shot KO power are as essential to me in an MMA game as the ability to dribble in a basketball game.
I totally agree. had fun with 3 beta because of the one shot danger and things were fresh. But pressure fighters was a big problem to. Maybe the solution could be if you stand up close one shot power means less and the push is more effective... Guess what I'm trying say is walking down an opponent throwing hooks and uppercuts is IMO very toxic, it needs be more strategic, outhininking each other with setups. In 4 beta it got somewhat better but now if you want to sway to counter you most likely get knocked out. and the there's stamina tunings with these issues. The sway with block is a cool feature though...
