Re: The Fall of EA Sports
The game isn't perfect, far from it, but I am enjoying it at the moment and having fun with it.
I don't really play ranked, barely play quick match even but I do play career until I have retired at least.
This year I am really enjoying playing the universe mode I have created.
I have built an Excel version that generates injuries randomly, has post fight suspensions etc and am slowly working my way through my first few events and it makes the game much more fun to play and adds a lot of depth.
In addition, I have also made a rough around the edges backyard universe as well with a much smaller roster, smaller events with some cafs added to spice it up. All fights are at openweight as well to give it a street/no rules vibe. I have to do it as custom fight nows rather than event mode I use for the regular universe but that is fine and ok as a workaround.
I am enjoying that backyard one almost as much as my full universe and playing both of them together means that I am enjoying the game a lot right now. I don't even worry about online at the moment and may not at all if I carry on having fun with the offline mode I have created for myself lol.
Anyway, my long winded point is that a lot of fun can be had with the game if you let yourself enjoy it. Again, it isn't perfect but I am ok with that at this point. At the end of the day it is just a game, it's meant to be fun and right now I am having fun with it so that's what matters to me.
I understand some other peoples points on here and also why you would be annoyed. I was too to start with but got over it and started to enjoy the game.
EA likely won't be changing the direction anytime soon from what @aholbert has been saying so I guess we have 2 choices at this point - don't buy it/don't play it or decide to make the best of what we have and try and enjoy it.Comment

Re: The Fall of EA Sports
They have no clue how small of a group of people who buy the game they represent. They also don't realize they are games they helped build with their feedback. EA has made the game look great. I haven't played in a while so I have no clue how it is from the technical standpoint. I have been watching Dmart play on Twitch though and it looks good.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

We are like a fraction of a fraction of people who play the game guys. Good job for getting them to listen this much. For real.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

Re: The Fall of EA Sports
I've created a post stating how much I disagree with the direction this series has taken under Geoff. I say this as evidence that I'm not kissing his a$$ or biased towards EA.
But he is 100% correct.
This is a business. EA is responsible for providing value to its shareholders. Nothing more.
youre right they have to make money for their shareholders, you know how you do that? you make good games! because of ufc 4 i will never buy another ea game unless they change their business model. im getting a refund for this game, its actually brokenComment

Re: The Fall of EA Sports
EA is just eroding its fan base at this point. all it takes is one company with some soul to come in and make a really good sports game of any type un licensed but made well and fans will jump ship and they will lose all their license to the make that game of said sport.

We have been waiting for 15 years for someone to make an unlicensed football game and convince the NFL that they shouldnt be exclusive....didnt happen even after 2k released All Pro Football.
Konami has made a more realistic soccer game for years....FIFA is still an exclusive EA license.
NHL....same thing.
The only way other companies get sports licenses is if EA gives up the license (like the PGA) or if they outbid them.
We need to be realistic about whether EA is going to hold on to the license or not.Comment

That has never happened.
