It is so unrealistic!
Stamina really does not mean that much in this game still! Non stop aggression is rewarded so much! This game is still not balanced. I am just not having fun playing it anymore. I am hanging by a string. Game play developer Jeff always made me feel like there was hope.Tags: None -
Re: It is so unrealistic!
These devs see nothing wrong with the game's current state. It is absolutely shameful.
Watch Pryoxis video about it from yesterday. Genuinely hate the dev that work on this game. It's a pure white-hot hatred. -
Re: It is so unrealistic!
I don't agree with throwing hate at the devs because:
1) They communicate with us more than any other sports gaming devs i've seen
2) Balancing an MMA game is really darn hard.
Yes Skynet lashed out and he probably shouldn't have, but getting told your work sucks everyday when you're putting in tons of effort would drive anyone crazy.
The biggest issue i've seen is juggling fun vs realism. Even some of the GCs advocate for fun over realism with certain mechanics because most people play the game for fun. A middle ground would be "competitive balance" but even that's hard to achieve and may also result in some realism being lost.Lineup:

Re: It is so unrealistic!
For example, a more realistic MMA game would mean that single strikes do way more damage than they do now. I'm talking about eating 4-5 clean strikes could end the fight. Or taking 1-2 power punches could get a flash KO.
You and I may want this but i'd say 80% of the casual community wouldn't like it because they'd be getting knocked out within seconds and would get discouraged from playing. Instead of learning to pick shots and being careful, they'll simply quit.
This is the battle we (and the devs) are fighting.Lineup:

Re: It is so unrealistic!
You should see the BS disrespect being shown by Skylarp or whatever this new devs name is to the customers.

1) "GENUINELY HATING" game developers of all people says more about you than them. It's nauseatingly pathetic.
2) You made a thread whining about Geoff being part of the developer team before the game had came out. How can you of all people complain about being disrespected?
3) Pryoxis literally quit his job to do UFC content full-time. I have no problem with it but that video is clearly clickbait. And you fell for it.
4) The rudest comment Skynet made (based on the 4K SCREENSHOTS Pryoxis took) is asking why Dyno has invested so much time into a half-made game. I don't remember if he has said this before but plenty of people have beforehand. This is your idea of BS DISRESPECT while you intentionally misspell his username, declare hatred and blatantly lie that they think the game is flawless now.
It shouldn't be relevant but I've barely played UFC 4 (less than 10 hours last 6 weeks?) because a lot of the design choices don't appeal to me.
Just sad really.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment

Re: It is so unrealistic!
If it takes a game to be in the state that cyberpunk was in before people are offered refunds then I can see why people get angry. I can’t think of many other industries where you buy a product and are effectively told to go and F yourself after buying it.Comment

Re: It is so unrealistic!
Lets say with UFC 5, they decide to do a sim ranked mode and it results in people being unable to easily find matches or constantly playing the same people over and again.
If they then remove the sim realism mode through a patch and go back to one mode....PEOPLE WOULD ****ING FLIP OUT.
If they then remove the regular ranked mode and go back to one mode....PEOPLE WOULD ****ING FLIP OUT.
If they kept it the same, people would continue to complain and likely stop playing the game because they cant find new opponents.
NOW before it starts. I'm not defending EA. I dont really give a **** about online modes. I dont honestly care what they do. I've just heard that splitting the user base is one of the reasons they dont do a sim ranked mode for the past 5 yrs.
I've never heard of any legitimate counters to that argument though.Comment

Re: It is so unrealistic!
If you walked into a Mcdonalds and demanded that they put mayo on a quarter pounder with cheese instead of ketchup...the reaction would be similar.
Maybe I'm old school. When I buy a game for $60, I'm not expecting them to cater the game to what I want. If I did, I would make sure that the game was mostly what I want before I buy it.
When I buy Madden, I'm not expecting it to be hyper realistic or play like NFL 2k. I expect that it will play like Madden has for decades and I accept that when I buy it.
Maybe I'm different though.Comment

Honestly...most industries. I work in television. If you dont like one of my shows but millions of other people watch it and enjoy it....we arent going to change our show for you. You could speak directly to one of my producers and they would say "Dont watch the show".

For instance, the game freezing before the fight starts or between rounds, fighters getting stuck for an entire round because of some kind of animation glitch in the clinch, strikes not registering when they clearly should connect, etc.Comment

Re: It is so unrealistic!
I know the OP was talking about realism but some of the points in Pryoxis’ video were about the actual functionality of the game. Subjectivity is one thing but they don’t even give refunds when there are things wrong with the game. By wrong, I’m not meaning that I or anyone else just doesn’t like it, I mean objectively wrong. I don’t expect refunds if I think the stamina is a bit too lenient but if there are huge bugs and glitches then I think I’d be justified.

I don't know of any games that give refunds for random bugs and glitches. If game freezes were happening regularly for the majority of players, I could understand that argument but I haven't heard of that being a regular thing.
I've seen the stuck animation bug but that has happened in maybe 1% of the games I played. Maybe it's more prevalant than Ive heard.

The fact that no other games are refunded, except cyberpunk which is a really high bar if that’s what it takes, is part of the reason why people are getting more frustrated with the industry. White hot hatred or however it was put above is too far but you can’t expect to take people’s money and then get all pissy when people criticise a product that has many flaws when they don’t even have the option of a refund, exchange or even a goodwill gesture. “Just go and play ufc 3” isn’t going to cut it I’m afraid.Last edited by ryangil23; 04-29-2021, 03:05 AM.Comment

Re: It is so unrealistic!
Cyberpunk had more to do with CD Projekt Red telling customers to contact Sony/MS for refunds. As a result, Sony/MS were flooded with angry refund demands so they responded by offering mass refunds and pulling it out of their stores.
Sony and Microsoft (and Nintendo) have monopolies on their own stores so they have little incentive to offer refunds. However, most PC digital game stores offer no-questions-asked refunds with some limitations regarding playtime and date of purchase so you couldn't for example beat a game then refund it. Ironically, it is EA's Origin that used to have by far the most customer-friendly refunds as they allowed refunds at any point. Alas, they have also implemented limitations since.
As Alberto said, random bugs and glitches aren't enough to get a faulty product refund because it's preserved for instances where the game is actually unplayable and non-functional. I have no doubt you have played the game for hundreds of hours so you really can't make the claim it's non-functional.Last edited by tomitomitomi; 04-29-2021, 04:54 AM.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment
