Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I was finally able to play on expert with Chuck and not get killed on the ground. I was able to survive for 1-2+ mins in each round on ground.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
So you twirl the right stick in a clock-wise manner, supposedly as fast as you can, right?
And that gets submissions when your opponents health is yellow and nothing else, right?
There is nothing I'm missing? No other button to hold, no button/buttons to mash whilst twirling, no special code, no fairy dust, no prayers, no voodoo?I post the frog

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Since Chuck's a wrestler, he's got some advanced wrestling techniques. For example, if you're Chuck and you're in Shogun's guard, you can do LB + minor transition to pick Shogun up and slam him down and end up fully postured up over him. I think Chuck also has a sweep to get out of full mount and into Shogun's guard.
There's an action list in the pause menu that shows all this stuff. The techniques with a gray UFC logo thing next to them are specific to that fighter's striking or grappling style.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Twirl medium speed. That is what works best for me. Nice smooth medium speed rotation.
But anyway I like doing different things with different fighters. With Chuck I love doing dirty boxing and powerbombing Rua everytime he goes for a triangle or armbar.
With Rua, it is all about the leg locks and flying armbars.Comment

And I agree about using the different fighters to play with a different style. I love using Chuck to try and just blast Rua into pieces and now I just find myself using Rua to get used to the ground game, which I'm fine at with other than submissions.I post the frog

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Should be picking this one up. Played the demo on both PS3 and 360. Didn't notice much difference. My first fight I won in 2 punches. Haha. Then yesterday I played another one, won by KO and the ref then continued to teabag Rua.

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Tried the twirling of the stick at half speed and medium speed. Same thing man, same thing.
Just pure garbage. I've seen Rua submit me while I've had full green stamina.
This game is going from a must buy to a maybe buy for me, whether everyone gets submissions but me or not. This current system is just a mess.
The UFC without submissions is like Madden without being able to kick a field goal.I post the frog

You would think that once, just once in a great while than an 85 would trump a 72.
I still get what you're saying though.I post the frog

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I don't know man, might just be your controller is kind of worn out. My controller is only a month old so maybe that is why. I have read on another website of people saying the same thing.
If your controller is relatively new and not worn out, submissions work fine. However if your controller is over a year old and been used a lot, submissions don't work so good.
Just might be the controller. Because I know every year after playing NBA 2K and especially FIFA games I always have to replace my controller because my right stick gets worn out.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
A little late to the party, just downloaded it this morning but wow is it good, played almost two straight hours just one match after another. Got to where I was winning just about everytime on the second difficulty so next time I fire it up I'll move it up a level. Definitely a first day purchase for me. I still don't think I've won by submission but for awhile I was enjoying using Chuck and just trying to bust Rua open and make him bleed all over the mat. Used Rua for a little while and started to get the hang of the ground game and countering and switching positions and stuff but no luck on getting a submission.Comment
