Depends on the fighter. Finesse sub guys u rotate the stick. Power strength guys you mash buttons.

I don't know what to do anymore.the submissions are killing me.Haven't hooked in a single submission since I went up on advanced. Spinning the right stick doesn't seem to work for me, so I got really frustrated and got my old turbo - button pad to try to do the job for me. But even with turbo, submissions don't work, thats reaaaally frustrating. All yellow in mount, even rocked, nothing seems to work. I'm at the point in which I really consider not to buy the game.

Unfortunately, I'm with you man. I've played upwards of 300 fights now and nothing. Squadoosh. Last night I had Chuck back mounted and after about 5 transition blocks I went for the triangle I believe and he weasled out of the submission easily.

The kicker though was when I had Chuck in full mount, and transitioned blocked 10 TIMES in a row. I could have easily went for the GnP finish, but I've been playing specifically looking for a sub. He had no juice left, but he got out of the submission again. I'm completely stumped at this point.

The thing I don't get is that its not Chuck over-powering me out of these submissions by striking me repeatedly. He's using technical escapes and then ending up in dominant positions after he avoids my submission. I'm not sure of the exact ratings, but I know Rua has a significant advantage in his submission O vs Chuck's submission D.

It would be an easier pill to swallow (but still annoying as hell) if Chuck was overpowering me out of these submits, but he's not. He's out "skilling" me and that just seems wrong.

        I play on Advanced BTW.

There are two ways to execute a submission – mashing the face buttons or rotating the right stick, a maneuver we call The Shine. In all cases, The Shine is going to be a better method to sink in a submission. Make sure you rotate that stick fast! The faster you rotate the stick, the higher your chance of success.
you know what the funny thing is
even with turbo, you can't submit chuck on advance...there is NO chance

I've submitted him on advanced, just not expert. my submission was a triangle chock initiated from mount.

I don't understand why some people can't submit Chuck. I submit him once a night at least (on advanced). I have submitted him a few times on expert (3 or 4, but all 3rd rounds).

Now on advanced I have submitted Chuck as quick as right at a min in the first round. Plus at least 12+ in the first round. I make a point to try and sub him in the first round. I have got to the point where I can nail it more often than not.

I don't use button mashing of course with Rua, I use the "shine" (Spin the stick).

Clock wise or counter? I just started trying last night to do one and couldnt. I literally counted chuck try and flip me off 9 times at least before i attempted it. And like people have said he not only escaped, he then gets top position. Im chalking it up to doing like one thing wrong. Ill wait till i have the game and practice mode to really worry about it. Or just become deadly with the hands

I always rotate it clockwise, but I'm 99% sure that doesn't matter. The developers said in the Q&A that "the shine" is always the better way to escape and to submit, but that mashing buttons will do the brute force escapes, which happen slightly easier with strong guys. Go with The Shine unless you are Chuck and want to specifically power your wa yout for some reason (no good reason, since the technical escapes are easy enough to do with him and you always get dominant position afterwards).

I tend to go Counter-clockwise. Not sure bro.

Yeah I always go clockwise. To me it just seems more natural to spin that way LOL.

I find that i cannot submit chuck either no matter what i do, even after i have stunned him and the screen has gone black and white.

My question is for the guys that are getting the submissions, are you guys holding down the LB button while spinning the shine stick and maybe not even know you are doing it? Im going to try this tonight and see if maybe this helps.

My hands are too big to spin the stick. Always end up hitting the guide button so I have to mash.
