Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
sounds like the game may need to be a bit slower and fatigue needs to effect striking more.Comment

agreed.
This game is a ton of fun, though...
It will be interesting to see other fighting styles in effect here since these guys are known for their striking. That could be the reason why so few matches are going to decision.Comment

This game sounds alot better than I thought it would be. It will definitely give fight night a fight for its money. I believe...:wink:Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

I think the fatigue works well, I noticed it affecting movement, striking, submissions and your defense. The last game I played I went crazy with punches and my hands seemed to drop lower and my movement backwards slowed to a snails pace. I love how this game plays out like a real UFC fight with the need to pace yourself while looking for weaknesses in your opponent. I also had a decision and I lost it but I enjoyed the crowd booing me because I did put on one boring fight.Last edited by BSanders; 04-19-2009, 03:48 AM.Comment

Does anyone else think that they cheat on expert? They will go right through my kicks and knees and take me down. And it is impossible to make a successful move on the ground.Comment

A little. One thing to note is that from some of the videos it appears that there is an accelerated clock feature. If thats true than I can see more fights going to decision. Also keep in mind that the demo features two guys with KO power and one with great submissions. Depending on the fighters, it may be easier to go to a decision.Comment

I'm loving this - and I can't wait to play with different fighters and classes.
It's a good mix of realism and arcade fun. I think this is perhaps one of the greatest 'first-attempt' sports games I've played, and it's just the demo.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I gotta say I am really annoyed with the ground game. I have been trying for two days now to submit Chuck and just getting to a dominate position is quit hard.
I time his punches, shoot on him and take him down. Once in guard, he pushes my head up, then kicks my off. Can't move to half guard, side control, or anything in time because the CPU just instantly does the correct move to counter.
I know the button movements with the right stick. Against another person it is a entirely different story. I can maintain position, move and get a better position etc. But against the CPU (On experienced). They just do the moves to perfect and perfect timing.
I mean changing position is not that difficult. Straight down, left, right, or up for a minor transition. Slightly either down right, down left, up right, up left, for a major transition. Try do that as the CPU just button mashes you. They throw nonstop on the bottom so changing positions becomes almost impossible. Then how in the world do they manage to push off so easy.
I mean Rua is a beast on the ground and that is not chucks strong suit (once on back). I mean he has great take down defense, but once he s on his back, he should struggle to get Rua off. In the game this is not the case. He just pushes you off with his legs like you are a 7 year old.
My only complaint so far. Against a human is where i think this game will shine. I am not feeling the CPU. It is darn near impossible to submit chuck on anything higher than beginner.Last edited by Phobia; 04-19-2009, 12:32 PM.Comment
