Yeah, the transition defense is key on the ground... I went through the tutorials and that helped me a lot with that. I can keep Chuck on the ground most of the time, but he'll sometimes get full mount position and nail me with a single hammerfist and I'm done... I gotta get better at noticing when he's trying to transition.

Once you hit the ground do what i mentioned a few posts up (post 262) about blocking transitions. It is really easy once you learn what you doing. The first 2 days with the game Chuck would kick me off like i was a 7 year old. Not at all anymore. I can keep him on the mat all 3 rounds if I choose to. For the most part atleast, he still can get up. But i make it extremely hard for him.Last edited by Phobia; 04-21-2009, 10:16 AM.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Yeah, I've been trying so very hard to submit Chuck, so I'm probably trying to transition too often. I need to go through the tutorials again tonight, as I'm forgetting about some of the things I learned such as the sweeps and the throws from clinch.
For those who have beaten the CPU via submission (either Chuck or Shogun), what difficulty was it on? I could probably go own someone on easy, but at the higher levels, it just seems impossible to submit them.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I really need to focus on my ground game. I've managed to get a few wins on advanced, but being able to control my opponent when I bring him down would definitely make things a bit easier. It's like I work for the takedown and the cpu either gets right back up or reverses it right away.Comment

Okay, I'll try on that level and see what I can do. It seems all but impossible on advanced. I've been so close plenty of times with leg locks, but Chuck fights his way out.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Finally beat chuck twice in a row with Rua on advanced (second hardest level?). Took a lot of clinching and taking him to the ground in the first rounds. Then I would get him in the clinch and hit him with knees to the head and He would finally get rocked. Then i just stand over him and beat the crap out him for the TKO.
Fun game, I have noticed that trying to submit chuck is a bad idea, whenever I do he seems to reverse it right into full mount and its over at that point.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
So would you say that the key was beating him up really well first, or hitting the buttons fast? I tried submitting him midway through the 3rd after beating his face to a pulp, working leg and body kicks, etc. and he still escaped. I've been frantically mashing all of the face buttons to set the submissions -- does the RS work better or something?Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

When I'm on top of Chuck, I tend to throw a couple kidney shots or blows to his face before making a transition. It sets you up nice because he'll usually begin to block and that opens up the opportuity for a transition.
Another thing I like to do with Rua is the standing Muay Thai clinch and use the whip to throw some knees to his face...its actuall pretty effective. I'm still trying to figure out if I can do a takedown with Rua from this position because it states something about non wrestlers not being a ble to do throws or brute throws or something...man, this game is deep.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I just preordered yesterday and got the demo, pretty fun with the short time I had with it. I only played 3 matches, but I could never get it to go to the ground, I also didn't pay attention to the controls and was just punching and kicking.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
How do you do the whip from the Muay Thai clinch again? I kept trying to do that last night but it wasn't working... I think I forgot or got confused on the command... lots of them are very similar.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Ahhh, thanks... I thought it was RS but it didn't seem to be doing anything. Probably a timing issue.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
