OH YEA!!!! Leagues are going to be sooooooooo bad azz!!! I honestly can't wait....I am itching just thinking about pounding out Frank Mir. I hate that sound of a gun with a passion. I wanna recreate the Lesnar fight minus the heel hook.

Advanced I truly feel is the best level for a competitive fight that you can loss at any moment. Yet still is highly possible to win with the correct game plan and skilled fighter.
I'm moving up to Advanced next, after I try a few more of these moves.

I'll look at the move list and start learning more, but thinks for the hints there. I have done nothing with rear naked chokes or punches from the back.

Can't wait until I can pick a full submission guy and try to win most fights that way. I am still hooked with the striking, but the ground play is awesome making all the transitions.

Gotta be careful like you said though...Chuck with full mount is pretty much deadly. Very tough to recover out of that (as it should be).

Np blue. In the move list anything with the UFC logo on the far left of the move is a Signature move. Chuck has the slam from guard, the rising knee when someone shoots, spinning back fist, superman punch. Rua has the rubber guard, flying knee, and I am sure a few more.

What I found on Beginner and experienced is I would take Chuck and beat Rua way more often than lose. Then I would switch and do the same thing beat Chuck way more often than lose. So that was when I started seeing it had to be the difficulty. So I upped it to Advanced and now it is much closer to a 50/50 win/lose percentage. Depending where the fight takes place will generally decided who wins. Which is what I was looking for. Rua on the mat should come out on top more often than not. Chuck in the stand up should come out more often than not.

Now I do believe Chuck is overrated in the game. I think his striking defense should be much lower considering he has been knock out like 3 out of 5 times in his last fights. Rua, Evans, Jackson, But even his loss to Jardine showed his step was not as quick. As Jardine just destoryed him with Leg kicks.

I probably checked OS once this entire weekend and thought this demo was comin later this week. Obviously, to my surprise, it came early and I got my code during lunch...good lookin out.

...and thanks for the impressions guys, I'm a fan of MMA and whatnot, but definitely not as much as you guys(full mount, side mount )...hopefully I'll get the hang of it and we can play some time...until then, my rookie *** is hittin the tutorials.

I'm at the move up point. I can hit 4ish kicks or punches with Rua and then back up...not taking that much damage from Chuck. On experienced you can (and will) still get caught, but I'm sure when I move up to Advanced it'll be more of a challenge. I haven't felt the need to really block as religiously as is mentioned, but on higher levels I know that's required.

I love Rua's flying knee, it's amazing when you get a KO from a move like that.

Side note, the presentation is amazing. Tale of the tape, Bruce Buffer, the beautiful Arianny or Edith, Goldberg/Rogan, Mario Yamasaki. They've got everything, I swear that if you're not really paying attention you may think it's a real fight.

I am a little tired of the commentary, but that's cause I've probably had 50 fights with the same 2 guys...normally that won't be an issue.

That's not even going into the awesome damage/cuts/blood stuff, and the fighting animations just seem great.

I'm shocked that this game has made all of us happy. Really, there's no "gamekiller", we're all having a blast. Yeah, higher level submissions are tough, but that's a product of the fighters. Way to go THQ/Yukes!

That's actually one of the reasons I'm really excited for the game. This game could hopefully provide a good reference point for people to really learn and appreciate what's happening on the ground. Instead of someone seeing the second GSP/Penn fight and thinking, "Stand up and hit him" maybe they'll think, "Wow, I can't believe how well GSP is improving his position and doing damage and still avoiding BJ's submissions. I know in Undisputed when I try and pass BJ's guard he freaking sweeps me almost every time."

My favorite is they have a recording of one of Greg Jackson's cornerman talks. His are so notable because while most cornermen and really amped up and excited and "****ing punish him when he shoots!!!" sort, Jackson is super calm. I smile whenever his recording plays in the game where he talks very low-key, very smoothly, almost elementary teacher-like "I want you to keep two hands up..."

I think the submission problem might also lie with the round timer being on "fast" or what ever speed it is set to in the demo. 3 true 5 min round I think we will see exhausted fighters in the 3rd round. I think to what the rounds are set at now, a round is around 2 min. So if that is the case almost 3 rounds (2 and a half) equals to the fatigue we will see in a real 5 min ROUND. Multiple that fatigue by 3 OR 5 rounds (title fight) and I think the later rounds submissions will be MUCH MUCH EASIER. Because people are already coming out saying if you work the body and tire the fighter they have submitted on advanced and expert. So it is impossible, just very hard with the time limit we are given.

I'm getting so frustrated with the submissions and ground work. Chuck should NOT be able to stuff my takedowns EVERY time when his stamina is completely empty. It's not green, yellow or red, it's grey because it's completely gone, and he continues to stuff me every time. I threw 3 rounds of leg and body kicks, he was at the point where one kick to the body would put him in the rocked state and he'd fall backwards, I'd let him up and hit him with another one and put him on the ground again. Get him in any kind of sub and he'd roll right out of it like he was full on stamina.

Is it an omoplata Shogun does to sweep? I thought I read that it was in the game. If so, that will be my bread-and-butter. Me and my buddies have a running joke about the omoplata because despite the fact that I don't think anyone has ever been submitted by it in UFC history, whenever someone throws one up Rogan will suddenly be like, "He's got the omoplata! It's locked in! This could be it! THIS COULD BE IT!" He gets really excited about it without fail, despite the fact that it's used as little more than a sweep now because it's so hard to actually tap someone with it.

I can't wait to do it in the game so I can start going crazy to my buddy about how I'm gonna submit him.

I don't see a reason not to have accellerated clock on. Real fights have "spots" where guys will sit in the pocket and do nothing and decide to resent and such - this is practically non-existent in videogames. We have nothing to lose, and our strike outputs are higher and everything is faster, so having full 5min rounds will make it less realistic imo. The balance of output and time is pretty solid to me. I certainly don't feel after a round has passed that it went by too quickly- it feels about right for everything that's going on. ***still shocked my system died***
