I agree man, that what I been saying. The human vs human part of the game is going to be the strong part. There is just soooo many options, counters, moves, etc etc etc.

My and my cousin were fighting night before last. He was Chuck and I was Rua. He was killing me with the falling away jab and then would explode in with the superman punch. After getting rocked many times by chucks punching power. I said I got to take him to the ground. So I go to shoot him on him. He catchs me with the LB+Y or X. Which is the Sig counter knee. It landed flush on my chin as I was shooting in. It sent me into black and white rocked mode as I was grabbing his leg. I managed to stay down just long enough to recover. I got back to my feet, he landed his big overhand right and I went to the ground. My guy landed in the "cover your head" animation, he ran and stood over me and started just unloading. My guy was so rocked I could not even get him to cover up. He finially came to and I managed to start getting my hands up around his head. But the blows kept coming and the ref stepped in and called the fight. TKO CHUCK!!!.

I managed to beat him 4 or 5 times after that fight just by taking him to the ground. Even caught him with a arm bar for the submit. Against a human the submits are much much more fair. I truly LOVE this game and it is only a demo with 2 guys!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first thought about what sort of fighter I would use for my career, I figured I'd probably be a thai boxer with a focus on keeping the fight standing, because I love kicks and knees in the clinch. So naturally I played as Shogun when me and my buddy played. But after experiencing the ground game, I'm probably gonna be more of a GSP ground-and-pound style now.

I just found it absurdly fun to get the takedown, pass into side control, and just unload. Once I got into side control, I could just hold back on the right stick to prevent any transitions since the little rabbit punches my buddy could do from his back weren't worth defending. And then every so often I'd either drop an elbow to the ribs or go with one of the big knee strikes to the side using LB. My buddy was nearly helpless as his body got some nasty looking bruises. His only chance of escape was getting a transition during one of those strikes, which required crazy timing. He usually managed to do it, but not until after taking a ton of damage, and his transition usually just put me back into half-guard.

Of course, getting the takedown on Chuck is freaking tough. A straight shot usually didn't work (especially if he countered it with a knee), so my best bet was to catch-counter a kick. Thing is, if you try and catch-counter one of Chuck's kicks, and he hits you in the face instead, it's usually gonna hurt. A lot.

God, I want to play more. I really want to see what a judoka is like. Of course, that would mean I'd probably have to not suck in the clinch. Oh well, I got some time to practice before the game comes out.

Finally submitted Chuck Rua caught him with a spinning back kick to the ribs, and it rocked him. He proceeded to take Rua down, but Rua pulled guard, transitioned to rubber guard, and then from rubber to back side control. From there he locked in a rear naked choke. I absolutely love the ground game and the muay thai clinch.

You transition from rubber to back side control how? Just get into rubber and do a major transition? I haven't really taken anyone's back as Rua...

I do think it'd take me forever to get him to tap though, experienced level submissions are tough.

I can't believe it, but my launch system just 3 red light'd. I called and will send it in for free - which isn't bad, but my system was runnig perfectly, so I can't believe it actually happend. I hope the new one they send is just as quiet as mine and is problem free. so strange.

at least I got a few days of wonderful demo! the truth is though that the demo just makes me want the game more - it's not really 'satisfying' my thrist while waiting for the full game.

Anyone feel Expert is way too scripted.

I tried it out - and every single time I missed with a head kick, the result was the same - Superman Punch... Over and over and over.

I'm on advanced right now, and it feels much better. Harder, but not totally scripted like.

I'm on the second difficulty, to practice my ground game. You guys do know that there is an entire list of moves and combos in the pause screen right? Rubber to back side is a Rua signature major transition, and it is F'N awesome. Throw some power knees to the ribs, then choke em out. Rua also has a back body triangle if Chuck rolls out of mount.

Once you pull rubber guard, do another transition and he will fold the leg over the head and pop out the side into a side back control. From there you can either pound them out, go for a submission, or transition again to put the hooks in and take the back.

Advanced I truly feel is the best level for a competitive fight that you can loss at any moment. Yet still is highly possible to win with the correct game plan and skilled fighter.

Well hot damn - I literally just lunged at Liddell with a Left Hook that sent him to the ground, then I pounded him out... Just like last night.

Got to watch the back body triangle though, chuck has a tendency to just spin around and you end up on your back with chuck in your guard. I would rather stay in side back control, pound them out for a while THEN take the back.

I'm alright with Chuck in guard, its mount that scares me.

LOL let Rua mount you as you play as chuck. On Advanced you will play hell getting out. I can cover up, reach pull the head down, attempt to roll out, Rua is a monster to get off from that position. Which it should be.

With Chuck on top, the danger is it only takes 3 or 4 hammer fists and you are lights out. But I just time his big hammer and go for the arm bar or triangle, even if he pulls out at least you can start over standing and go for a counter-leg take down, clinch in close and go for the throw, or time a attack and shoot on chuck. Moving from guard to half-guard and side control on chuck is possible. Then keeping him there is hard but is possible. I have pounded on him almost the entire round just hold back on the right stick to defend the transition and just continue to rain elbows and knees from side control. The beauty of mount is the options for transitions is basically VERY limited. You can pull the head down, Attempt to roll out (which is VERY hard), cover up, throw some shots from the bottom or attempt a submission. Transitioning out is darn hard.

Ugh, it's killing me reading these impressions. I can't wait until thursday gets here. By the time the game actually drops everyone will have had a long time with the demo. We should have decent competition on day one.
