Re: OS Official UFC Undisputed Strategy and Help Thread
Damn was hoping for a nice meaty guide on the first post. Will have to give the whole thread a read. But first, does anyone know a guide out there on the interwebs that i might be able to download??
Where i'm struggling most at the minute is my ground defence. Finding it very difficult, or just ignorant in the ways to avoid the opponent making offensive transitions. I guess i'm just not sure which way i shuld be flicking the right thumbstick to defend the transition.Comment

In terms of preventing serious damage, I like to hold low block immediately to prevent knees to the body. If he whips I can recover in time to block high. In terms of escape, the best method is to wait for a low knee, and counter catch (right stick down) one of the knees to the body. It's an auto-takedown, and usually gives side control top. Hope that helps a little.April 12 is Stack's dayComment

Online hint: when you're on the bottom of a full mount, don't try to knock the guy on top out. So far I've had people on the bottom try to brawl with me - which has never ended up well for them.Comment

Best strategy is to either, 1) Transition and let him take your back 2) Catch a arm and pull his head down, hold there and let the ref stand yall up 3) Catch arm for the sub (BJJ) 4) Sweep out and roll him so you end on top.
The best and easiest option is to transition and let him take your back. Then do some blocking and transition blocking, then set up for a major transition to break out of the hold and both guys will end up back at their feet.
TIP: I want all guys new to the game to realize, that once you are on the bottom. Just like in the real UFC, once they have claimed dominate position. If both fighters know the game well, this part of the game will be VERY strategic. The further the top guy can transition up the ladder the harder and harder it will be for you to escape. Which it should be, mounted should be almost fight over. Unless they manage to slip up and allow you to roll.
I know from all my fights online with guys who understood the ground game. That it is a flat out LONG drawn out war on the bottom with both fighters trying their hardest to gain position.Last edited by Phobia; 05-20-2009, 11:29 AM.Comment

Who would do that LOL...You have no leverage, weight, or technique behind punches from the bottom. They are good to try and soften them up to work your way out. But getting hammered on from the top does WAYYYYYYYY more damage than the bottom can could ever dish out.

A couple have done it out of frustration - as they try to transition, and I pretty much just stay on top, so they probably figure there's no other choice.Comment

I do the same also, if I can get mount. I will eat some shots from the bottom and hold transition block. But timing your punches and not allowing them to key on your timing and transition out in between your punches.Comment

Haha yeah I had some idiots trying to punch their way out of mount... I'm like, "Really, guy?" I either let them tire themselves out and sub them or just pound them relentlessly before they can manage to transition/reverse (if they even know how).
Heh, is it just the opponents I've gotten, or does anyone else notice that people online seem to try using the LS to get out of bad positions instead of RS? They worm themselves around, rotate in circles, etc. and I just major transition to mount haha, it makes no sense.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
