What can you say about machida? He is like an enigma that will be very difficult to solve. Great performance by Machida.

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
The thing with the Hughes fight and the Guida fight for me is octagon control. They controlled their opponents for most of their fights and deserved the win. By no means were either of those fights very entertaining but by the rules of the UFC they both did enough to win the fight. I'm a little more upset with Diaz and Serra for not being able to reverse the situations. Fights like that are going to happen and the only way to prevent it is to work on your sprawl and learn some switches. Both Diaz and Serra were, for the most part, ineffective in those fights.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
The thing about the Serra/Hughes fight was that when Hughes got Serra down, Serra did nothing except stall and hope for a stand up. I mean, come on, a BJJ black belt stalling while on his back. Serra was more responsible for the lack of action on the ground than Hughes.Comment

Also I find myself starting to root for the Polish Experiment.
Machida, or course will lose someday, but wow what a nightmare. He looks unbeatable.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
one thing im not understanding. rumor has it that its gonna be rampage vs machida for the ultimate fighter. Rashad had a much better chance than rampage. rampage is too slow. how is he gonna hit lyoto when rashad couldnt. yet some people are already saying rampage will destroy machida. Rampage will be lucky to catch a wild hook on machida.Comment

I have high doubts that Page will beat Ryu but I don't buy the "Shad is better than Page, so Page will go down just like Shad did" sentiment. I like Page's boxing a bit more than Shad's, and now Page knows he can't fight backing up and on his heels.
I think Page will come in and try to dictate things and force Ryu to at least use some of his BJJComment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
This is Dana White's blog on championship night..... there is 4 parts, but part 4 only I posted because it captures the excitement of watching this live the most.
Dramatic ringside reactions too from The Rashad camp and his wife moments before the KO and some cool behind the scenes stuff. Very well done.
Matt Serra and B.J Penn are funny as hell.Last edited by phillyfan23; 05-25-2009, 07:18 PM.Comment
