Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Galls has 1 pro fight and 2 amateur fights. He was chosen so the commission would allow the fight. The issue I have is Galls is fighting someone who is 11-10. How are they allowing this fight, but won't allow the same for CM? Can't wait for this to be over after he gets pounded out. I was beginning to think he wouldn't fight ever.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
The UFC has been very clear from the moment that Punk signed that he would face someone who only had a few fights so I dont get why you would be up in arms about his opponent.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
It happens all the time. Sage Northcutt's fourth fight was against someone with 50 plus fights. His second was against someone with 10. Number of fights isnt indicative of how competitive a fight is going to be.

I understand that and don't have a problem with it. I have issues with the fact that they are saying he has to fight someone with little experience in order to get the fight sanctioned. Just come out and say we had to find some nobody off the street to even give him a chance.

Punk's age is a problem too. His first fight will likely happen in NV. Punk is 37 and every fighter over 35 has to be individually approved by NSAC at a hearing. Usually these things are rubber stamped but given how high profile Punk is and how unpredictable NSAC is, I'm sure the UFC doesnt want to risk that NSAC refuses to sanction the fight.
Finally, Gall isnt a complete nobody off the street. He trains with the Miller Brothers and has been training for 2 years. That the perfect guy to match up with Punk.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
I doubt she is staring. She can't even carry an action movie, how is she going to lead in a comedy? You can get a preview when she hosts SNL in 1-2 weeks. If does ok, then she may have a chance. Plus Tina's movies have bombed and basically should be straight to DVD or TV only.Comment
