Watched Silva-Sonnen 1 for the belt last night and it was a damn good fight even though Silva was getting his *** beat for most of the fight.

    And Sonnen didn't tap either.

Gonna try to watch Condit-Lawler today and hopefully catch some of the other fights ya'll recommended as well.

Silva had never been dominated like that, so that's what made his comeback even more impressive at the end of the fight.

Sonnen wound up flunking a drug test (PEDs) and would've likely been stripped of the title, so it was good for the UFC at the time that Silva picked up the win.

Malarkey, I don't by it. A smear campaign that's all. Brock is all natural and jacked, deal with it.

              My favorite sport is sarcastiball.

UFC gave Brock the first ever USADA exception, dudes should have egg on their face, but their is new owners

A bunch of us on here even called this as soon as he was granted the 4 month exemption. Not that the exemption mattered, obviously, but let's be real some dudes it's just obvious. Nobody has THAT good of genetics.

I know a woman hasn't popped yet but I gotta be real, some of these Brazilian chicks...I mean, just sayin. If Gadelha's abs are all natural, then good for her, that's impressive

Andrade looks like one of her parents is a tank, if that's genetics it's crazy. Also some of these upper 30's fighters that look like they are carved from stone.

As someone else on here already referenced, I am going forward with the following stance on sports in general

"Everyone is on steroids." - Nate Diaz

It wouldn't shock me if anybody shocked. Holly Holm, Conor, DJ, anybody. I'm just so snakebit by all these guys popping the last decade or so that I just assume everyone has probably cheated at one point.

It really used to bother me but I just started accepting it the last couple years

New Mark Hunt wants some answers ... or else.

Upon hearing the news that Brock Lesnar, who defeated Hunt via unanimous decision at UFC 200 last week, had been notified by USADA of a potential anti-doping violation, stemming from a failure of an out-of-competition drug test on June 28, Hunt asked UFC officials for half of Lesnar's purse or else he would like to be released from his contract effective immediately.

"The cheaters get a slap on the wrist and walk off," Hunt told MMA Fighting. "What penalty or deterrent is there to make them think twice? Nothing. And the [Nevada Athletic Commission], why should these [expletive] get anything? They are not the ones who had to fight with Lesnar or lose [to him]. I lost."
Wow. I wonder how that plays out.

                          Re: OS MMA Random Thread

To me this just really reaffirms what myself and some others said back when the Lesnar fight was announced.

You can't make exceptions. At the end of the day UFC still made their money off that card. Lesnar is still gonna get his cut out of those PPV sales regardless, right?

You couldn't make an exception for Conor missing a press conference but you go ahead and let Lesnar fight without the 4 month testing period? No way man. I'm sorry.

I know money is everything and money rules all, and they made their money, but this situation is crap IMO.

Conor missing a press conference isn't putting an opponent's health in added danger.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record here but I feel you if one guy doesn't get an exception, nobody should. Especially if that first guy is Conor, who, really, at least had somewhat of a point in his argument for missing the press conference. Right or wrong, he had a reason. People on here talked about "losing respect" for Conor over something as meaningless as that yet we all signed off on Lesnar going into the ring possibly juiced to the gills since he wasn't subjected to the same testing period as everyone else.

I know hypocrisy in the Fertitta/White UFC universe is nothing new, but this just rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. I guess I am part of the problem though. I still bought the card, I still cheered for Brock, and hell, if he fights again, I would probably cheer for him again.

When Anderson popped, that was when my MMA innocence was lost. Really didn't see that one coming. We had ViTRT Belfort spinning heel kicking peoples eyeballs out their damn sockets for how long? Crazy that TRT was actually LEGAL for so long in the sport

One thing I will say is Brock definitely beat some dudes who were, as far as I am concerned, from my perspective, definitely juicing as well. That doesn't make it ok, but I consider his wins over Mir and Carwin legit since to me it was a level playing field.

Sorry for the weird rant. I dunno who to blame more. Brock or the UFC.

How long does junk stay in someones system? I bet a bunch of the Bellator 158 guys crapped themselves and started scrambling when Coker announced the testing for that card.

I think if you are great in this sport or any sport in General. You are taking something. Natural talent and some cardio can get you only so far. And even if you weren doing it, these guys feel the pressure to Also start doing it to even the playing field. Thats Why the guys who arent taking it, look good but not extra ordinary like a bisping. It's just that the bar is set so high that they look averge not because of their skil. Maybe if nobody was using bisping would have been champion years ago. And others too

Damn that a great fight and entertaining one. Up until that last round, I wasn't sure who would win it.
