Aaron, within the boundries of the rules and policies of this board you can be such a dick sometimes.
I've done my best to breathe some fresh air into this MMA board: the tiny fight companion on discord, the MMA awards, live "tweeting" on this thread during fights, even that stupid punching bag duel. And all this time, I didn't know all i was doing was jerking off in a circle. Well then allow me to remove one part of that equation.

I know on these forums we're all supposed to strive to be these Sam Harris imitations who debate callously and dispassionate. But I have to say, you've actually managed to hurt my feelings.
oh ****, I said "feelings" online, maybe Tony Todd will appear and drag me down into hell. Either way, peace out guys, hopefully my absence will be what this board needs.

I 100% agree that I can be a dick sometimes. I just dont agree I'm being one here. I stated my observation and subsequent posts kinda proved it accurate.

The Jones situation has SOOOOOO many levels to it. (Did he fail a test before the first DC fight and Nevada hid it?/Is he currently microdosing?/Whats the difference between his situation and Frank Mir?/Should a commission allow him to fight if he continues to test positive for minscule amounts of Turniabol? and much more.)

But the discussion here is typically (I'm exaggerating a little):

Poster 1: Jones is a drug cheat. **** that guy.
Poster 2: Well he's failed some tests but I'm not sure this one is a failure and....
Poster 1: I dont care. **** that guy! **** the corrupt UFC for allowing him to fight and paying off USADA so he could fight.

Now I get it. Thats the internet. This is the age we are in. Now if I agree with Poster 1, everyone here is happy. No one is learning anything. There is no nuance to the discussion but I'm not disagreeing so everyone is happy.

I'm not built that way. I'm not good at ignoring comments that I think are outright wrong or silly. That seems to be what Dave and you want. Thats fine but thats not what im gonna do.

What's weird to me is instead of saying "let me try to elevate the discussion a little", your response is to leave the board. I didnt call out anyone specifically with the circle jerk comment (I called your P4P post out directly because I thought it was silly). No one else took offense (other than Dave). I couldve been talking about Shiz in my initial post. His response was to ask why I thought the Jones/Hardy situations had alot of depth. What followed was a good conversation (excluding Dave's angry responses). Thats one way to respond.

The other is to either leave or respond angrily because in my opinion, this forum has become an echo chamber. If you want to bash the UFC (even unfairly), you will not find one person who will challenge you. If you respond even slightly taking it from another perspective, people will try to shout you down.

With that said, you shouldnt leave because of my posts. ****, I barely post in this forums so you can go back to post just like you always have.

If you read the Jones v Gus thread, you would know that is not true.

I said, "No need to be mad about it.

If USADA were corrupt they wouldn't have caught Lance Armstrong.

Jon Jones is small league compared to him."

Sorry if I misinterpreted your post.

I thought you were saying LHW lacks talent because of Smith getting the title shot.

As a WWE guy I figured I would give my thoughts on a potential Brock fight. I don't think the Rumble says anything about his status for a fight in UFC. Though it's highly likely that he wins at the Rumble. The bigger issue would be him getting injured in the UFC and he misses Mania. Vince would be furious if that happened. And I do think we get the fight but it will be in like May/June area. So there is no conflict with Brock's WWE schedule.

Also I wouldn't be shocked if we saw DC and Lesnar in a WWE ring together at some point even it's to just build this fight should it happen before Mania this year. He has been to a few WWE shows (including a Mania a number years ago and Ronda's debut last year) and FOX wants him to do commentary when WWE goes there in October.

I know it's not possible, but I have less than zero interest in a DC-Lesnar fight in an Octagon or WWE ring.

The price of stupid, via @arielhelwani:

Official: Khabib Nurmagomedov suspended nine months and fined $500,000 by the NAC for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight melee. The suspension can be reduced to six months if he cooperates in the filming and distributing of an anti-bullying PSA. Suspension is retro to 10/6.

His teammates are all getting 1 year / $25k suspensions it looks like too.

Official: Conor McGregor has been suspended six months and fined $50k for his role in the post-UFC 229 melee. His suspension expires on April 6, 2019.

Additionally, some discussion about fining and suspended based on what is said, not just what is done - the commission is embarrassed by the rhetoric leading up to the contest.

I doubt they do anything about it though

Khabib is done fight in Vegas and won't fight until October at the earliest. Just strip him now as he is refusing to do the PSA and fight in April and won't fight in Vegas.

Jones got a 1 fight license as expected, but now will be tested a minimum of 2 times a month. Will see if he can manage to now screw up again with that much testing.

Matt Hughes' wife, twin brother request restraining orders against him

The wife and brother of UFC legend Matt Hughes have each filed a restraining order against him alleging physical violence and threats.

ESPN confirmed via court records that Audra Hughes, Matt's wife, and Mark Hughes, his twin brother, filed for protective orders against Hughes late last year. Audra Hughes' request, which was made in Montgomery County, Illinois, was filed on Dec. 13, one day after she alleges her husband struck her in front of her son and their daughter, according to TMZ.

Hughes filed for divorce from his wife on Jan. 21, according to court records.

Hughes, 45, nearly died in June 2017 after a truck he was driving collided with a moving train in a rural area north of St. Louis. Hughes was airlifted to a hospital with a traumatic brain injury. He eventually recovered and the UFC honored him during a live event in January 2018.

According to TMZ, Audra Hughes alleged her husband choked her and threatened to shoot her during an incident in July 2018. TMZ also reported Mark Hughes alleges his brother physically threatened his teenage son during a dispute over a tractor.

Matt Hughes (45-9) held the UFC's welterweight title at various times between 2001 and 2006. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest welterweights of all time. He announced his retirement from MMA in 2013 and worked for the UFC as a brand ambassador until 2016.
**** sounds like Hughes brother was getting too close to the family......

Looked at TMZ, doesn't look like that. Looks like separate issues here. ESPN does make it sound like there was something going on, but TMZ has more info.
