I've always been a big boxing guy going back to the early 80s and never really got into MMA besides catching a few matches here and there, once in a blue moon... but I started watching the UFCs from the beginning and the early years are pretty fascinating and fun as hell to watch, for the most part.



Soon after Maurice Smith beats Coleman I would say, it starts to get more homogenized and not feel as 'special' any more. Rule changes, all the guys are forming alliances and starting to learn the same styles, they all seem so much more friendly with each other now, they even come out wearing all the same gear. (I'm up to 26:Ultimate Field of Dreams)


Think I'm gonna stop at 30 with the Zuffa takeover (can't stand Dana White)

That's it. I'm out with Jeff Blatnick. (UFC 32) Heard the Zuffas forced him out too. F them. Guess I'll continue with Pride for a while. I'm enjoying Bas and Quadros on the call.

Not even 1 response after all this time ? Guess this isn't the best spot for old school mma talk...lol


Anyway, I'm coming to the end of PRIDE and feeling a bit sad. Watching the big UFC fights here and there, but not excited by any of it.


Wanted to pick up an mma game, so I grabbed UFC 3: Undisputed because it has PRIDE in it and I heard it was a good one. Not made by EA either, so that;s a plus.

Yeah I’m watching it now. Not sure if Peña will retain later tonight, but I like her chances.

That fight was nuts, Cyril said post fight - "Tai is the hardest hitter I have ever face. Ngannou never hit me clean, so I can't compare. Tai hits the hardest."
